Owner description: Rainforest Trail has two routes, A & B, both of which fully engulf you in the temperate rainforest full of gigantic western red cedars and western hemlocks. Sparking a sensation of zen, you will be overcome with the nostalgia of your childhood memories, ready to make more. Scan the upper canopy for birds, listen to the trickle of water and smell the life of this highly productive forest. Trail A is located on the opposite side of the highway from the parking lot. Trail B starts from the parking lot.

“Rain forest trail in the rain”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

The weather in Tofino can be very unpredictable. When it rained for 24 hours we put on our rain gear and headed for the rainforest trail! It was beautiful and devoid of most other human beings. Very interesting and worthwhile activity.

“Nature, nature, nature”

Lovely walk, easy accessible and well maintained. You should not miss it while in this area. Watch out for the huge slugs!

“beautiful, many stairs”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

We loved this trail on the boardwalk through the massive trees and greenery. The ferns are amazing. You feel like there should be fairies lurking under them. We all loved it. I want to let people know, however, if there are any mobility issues, there are many, many stairs scattered throughout the walk and sometimes there aren't any handrails. My 78-year old mother made it through, but we underestimated how many stairs there were. We all enjoyed this walk--it feels as if you're in another world, totally separate from the outside.

“Magical experience”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

This trail through the old growth forest is magical. Everyone talks in whispers and as you listen to ravens calliing to each other and swooshing through the forest you feel you are transported back 100's of years.

“. . . But it doesn't go to the beach”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

It is a lovely walk, but it is little different than a half dozen other walks in the park that take you down to the beach (e.g., schooners cove). The interpretive signs are not informative enough to make this walk stand out from all the others.
