Owner description: Rainforest Trail has two routes, A & B, both of which fully engulf you in the temperate rainforest full of gigantic western red cedars and western hemlocks. Sparking a sensation of zen, you will be overcome with the nostalgia of your childhood memories, ready to make more. Scan the upper canopy for birds, listen to the trickle of water and smell the life of this highly productive forest. Trail A is located on the opposite side of the highway from the parking lot. Trail B starts from the parking lot.

We were there on a rainy day.We took the water taxi from tofino ( 30 CAN per person )It takes about 15 minutes one way to get there. It's a very impressive rain forest with huge trees. The boardwalk trail is easier and takes about one hour for and back. The roundtrip trail is very muddy. There are no signs and we lost the right way and got to a dead end so we went back on the same path.
Very impressive!

We really enjoyed this boardwalk. Very well laid out. It was quite late in the day so it had quite an eeiry feel to it also we were aware that animals come out at dusk to feed so wary as no-one else was around. The trees are amazing and everthing was so still and quiet. All paths very well maintained.

Not much to dislike at all. Feels like walking 500 ys ago when such forests covered the whole of vancouver island.at times the foliage is so dense that even at noon , it feels like dusk.

A nice stroll through the rainforest on a good boardwalk trail. Be prepared for lots of steps though.

The two trail segments that make up the Rainforest Trail in the Pacific Rim Park have different characteristics that visitors should note. The loop closest to the parking area has a "roller coaster" feel to it, as you climb in and out of gullies on well maintained (albeit steep) boardwalk stairs, while the loop across the highway is flatter. Interpretive signs are well done and informative, making this a good walk to learn as well as simply enjoy. It's NOT a place to let small children "run wild," however, as the boardwalks can be slippery. The forest is, quite simply, beautiful. I'd say this should be one of the "must see" attractions to the Tofino/Ucluelet area.
