Charming cottage with vaulted high ceilings. Beautiful windows with lush green foliage; from the living room & deck a view to the water. Cozy comfy living room & bedroom. Kitchen had all the amenities. Wonderfully organized! Made some dinners in with delicious fish from Trilogy paired with BC wines. Biked into the village and toodled around, great morning coffee at Tofino Roasters. Beautiful beaches and great restaurants...came home from our outings and turned on the fireplace for immediate ambiance and warmth and would pop in a dvd from Pat's collection. We want to come back and stay! What a great experience!
Very comfortable accommodation in a very peaceful setting. Spent 3 nights here and the accommodation had everything we needed when preparing breakfast and when cooking main meals. Food outlets were within 15 minutes walking distance as is access to beaches. For a greater choice a drive into Torino (2 mins) was required.
A delightful little octagon-shaped cottage nestled in the rainforest off the Pacific Rim Highway just south of Tofino proper.
The MUP (multi-use path) runs right past the driveway, so regardless of how you plan to get around while you're here, the cabin's location makes it easy to do. You're also within easy walking distance of Mackenzie Beach, the Botanical Gardens, and Tofino Brewing Company. A slightly longer hike will get you to the Tofitian (for coffee/tea) and Tacofino, one of my favorite places to eat on the peninsula.
Size-wise, I'd recommend the Cottage for one or two people there's just one bed and one bathroom; if you need more space, there's Heron House (2bed, 2bath) next door.
The cottage has a full kitchen, replete with basic cookware and utensils, though the stove is a little anemic. The washer/dryer came in very hand on the many rainy days we went out hiking anyways and came back wet and muddy and needed to dry our things!
The couch in the living room is oriented so that you can sit and watch the tides ebb and flow through Tofino Inlet, just below the cottage, or you can hike down at low tide and explore the intertidal mud flats yourself!
All said, Heron Cottage has been an excellent place to spend our time in Tofino -- close enough to everything we want to do, yet despite neighbors, secluded enough to give us the peace and quiet we cherish.
Nestled back in the woods. Great location. Super close to downtown Tofino, the park and the beach. Wonderful sunsets, great food, perfect little cottage. Outdoor shower and fireplace are pluses.
Imagine a place like home, with all of the amenities but set in a wooded, serene location overlooking an inlet of the Clayoquot Sound. Eagles and herons and sometimes a bear (we were not so lucky to see a bear but we have learned of some who were) may make an appearance but never threaten you. An ideal location to get to all of Tofino without being in the middle of the traffic. And traffic is relative to Tofino. Really none, but if you are going into town and plan on being there for awhile, go before 10:00 to get a good parking spot. The cottage itself is a great place to unwind after a day of hiking, canoeing, whale watching or bicycling. A grill perfect for making a Tofino dinner of coho or sockeye salmon and steak is easy to fire up and use. The in town coop grocery and liquor store has everything you need to fill your fridge with all your favorite happy hour mixers and you will be glad you chose the Heron Cottage as your landing spot. Then wind your day down with a hot outdoor shower on the deck and have a good night sleep!

If you want a bit of seclusion with rustic charm and all of the conveniences of home this it. Washer/dryer, stove, large fridge and comfortable queen bed with a sofa sleeper besides. Very close to the water, walking distance to the village and neighbors the botanical garden which is an amazing place to view art with nature. Very quiet and relaxing.
