“Fabulous - Trip Advisor got it right, again.”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

What a fabulous experience. Having had 3 glorious weeks in Canada, seeing all the sights and sounds on offer, this trip still managed to blow us away.

From booking the trip, to stepping off the boat - everything was just perfect. Mike is the perfect host & captain. He has all the time in the world for his guests, he knows the waters, he is hugely knowledgable about the wildlife and he knows where they are all hiding too.

Bald eagles started the day, then sea lions, then a bear, and another, and another, then a mum and her cub. And as another Reviewer correctly stated, Mike just turns off the engine & lets you all settle down to watch and listen to the bears - amazing. Couldn't believe how close we got to them and suspect you won't either!

Cannot fault the trip and they didn't charge us for our 3 year old either- which seemed very fair - unlike a whale tour or two.

PS we are utterly smitten with Tofino!

“Great day with Mike!!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

It was such a great time we had with Mike!
We started early with a few more people and straight away Mike made us feel at home.
We could have tea and coffee and Mike is very knowledgable! We loved all his stories and especially his humour!
However most importantly we saw bears and a cub! And we didn't just stay for a minute for the picture everybody wanted... We stayed like 20 minutes or more so we couldnt just see the bears but also observe them, hear them chewing and turning the stones around while the other boats with rarely space to walk around were gone long time.
We loved the trip and can only recommend Mike's Browning Pass!!!

“The best bear watching trip in Tofino!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

We have recently returned from Canada and had to write a review of our trip with the bears! Mike is the most fantastic guy - they call him "Mr Bear" locally as he knows where the bears will hang out, and has been doing his trip so long. We set out on a very rainy day but the bears were out in force! We got incredibly close to them, and had a much more intimate experience than other boats seemed to. Mike takes a maximum of 12 on his lovely boat whereas other trips seem to take up to 40. He made us tea and coffee throughout the trip and the boat is very comfortable with lots of room to move around. This is a truly fabulous trip - if you only do one trip in Tofino make it this one!

From start to finish Mike made sure we had a great ride. We saw lots of bears and he made sure we got a good view. Hot beverages were appreciated since it was so rainy. My girls and I had a fun cruise

“14 bears, up close and personal”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Our guide, a lifelong native of Tofino took us in his boat up Browning pass to observe bears. He had fresh coffee, and binoculars for all! He knew so much about the area. We saw bald eagles and seals, and 14 bears. He got us within 20 feet if shoreline and we saw and heard the bears rolling rocks to find and eat crabs. we could hear their teeth crunching the shells. he bears seemed oblivious to our presence except at one location when the fresh coffee was ready and the aroma wafted out and the passengers and bears looked up to smell the coffee. His boat was very comfortable and more enjoyable than the rapid zodiac tours offered by others.
