We stayed there for three nights - the furniture and the bathroom was quite dated - make sure to bring your own hairdryer. To Tofino it is quite far away - about 15 minutes by car. But to the beach it is only a 5 minutes walk.
Maybe that motel would not be the best choice if you are allergic to animal hairs- all our neighbors took their dogs with them into their rooms.

My teenage daughter and I stayed at the Dolphin Motel during our stay in Tofino in August 2013. The location is great, a quick 5 minute walk to one of the best beaches, Chesterman Beach. The owners are super friendly and accommodating, she even came to our room when we were bringing our bags in and gave my daughter some sand dollars from the beach. The room is simple but effective, clean, comfy beds, bathroom, Wifi and flat screen TV, all you need! We will definitely stay here next time we are in Tofino!

Room Tip: The walls are a little bit thin, best to choose a corner room so you only share a wall with one gues...

The motel is close to the beach, maybe 5 minutes away. Check in is smooth and the owner/manager is really sweet, friendly, and very accommodating. The room I booked had 1 bedroom consisting of a Queen Bed and a single bed in the room. There is also double bed in the living room (ok, I wouldn't call it a bed, more like a mattress on plywood). The sheets, pillow cases and comforter look like they came from a thrift store, as they were all mismatched. There is a change of towels everyday and light housekeeping. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, plates, pots and pans. there is also a microwave, coffee maker and a fridge. The size of the fridge varies from room to room. You can get a full sized fridge in one room and have a mini fridge in another room. Contrary to reports of a BBQ, it's actually a Weber Charcoal grill, which if you have used a charcoal grill, don't expect your food cooked in a jffy! There are also picnic tables outside the rooms, so you can have a nice meal outside. The motel is a good place for groups of friends and families to meet at a decent price.

4 of us guys went to Tofino for a surf trip during BC Day long weekend. This place looks quite old on the outside, but it is actually surprisingly clean and tidy on the inside. The room we booked had 2 bedrooms, 1 living room/kitchen, and 1 bath. There are three beds, two twins and a single. The kitchen had everything, pots, pans, cutlery, knives, plates bowls, microwave, everything you need. I definitely recommend buying your own grocery to cook, since a burger here in Tofino is $15 in the summer. The TV had good picture, good volume, no complaints. The bad was that dinner table was a little too small for 4 guys, and there was only 1 sink.

I can't really comment on the bed sheets or the way they look. It's just a bed, it's soft and I can sleep in it if it's clean. That's all we were looking for. We received new towels on the second day, so I guess that was good.

We did not try the 5 minute walk to the beach, but I guess it's doable. What's good about this location is that it's right next door to a surf shop, a grill bar, and a coffee shop.

Overall it was good, quiet. It's a good place if you come with friends, or solo. Couples and families should seek a more expensive place, however.

Room Tip: We had a party of 4, so we picked room 1.

This isn't the place you would choose for a romantic getaway or when you expect to spend a lot of time indoors. However this is the PERFECT place to stay if you intend on surfing, exploring, going to the beach and being out and about all day.
It was cheap, convenient, and close to everything, including a 5 mins walk to Chesterman's beach (where we usually surf at)
Not to mention we had a couple of rooms rented for a larger group of people (we had 11 guests in our group) and the staff was so kind. I believe the owner/manager goes by the name Veronica. She was very accomidating, sweet, funny and really just wanted to make sure we had a good time.
She even pulled out her own little charcoal BBQ for us to use as we were killing time in the parking lot with our beach chairs out and everything.
The motel was very reasonable about noise levels and even brought us extra towels without us even having to ask.
Also, they allow dogs!!!
I would without a doubt go here again!

Room Tip: Just be honest with the amount of people per room, they will do their best to choose the best room f...

This motel is perfect for the unassuming traveller that wants to be close to the spectacular beaches of the west coast without the price and formality of a big hotel.
My daughter treated me to a Tofino getaway for Mother's Day and the motel was a good choice for us. We were happy our dog could be with us. The proprietor was delightful and we immediately knew this motel was a good choice for us.
