Exquisitely sited on a rocky point, the inn and the accommodations are beautiful. The restaurant is a gourmet's delight, great wine list, fresh, imaginative cuisine. This resort is jaw droppingly great in all dimensions - staff, aesthetics, area attractions. Tofino is an easy drive or bike ride away, good food abounds in the area. Check out the TacoFino taco truck and gelato at Tofino Chocolates.
Then take a long walk on the flat beach and watch the tide come in or out. Note: it's a 4 1/2 drive from Victoria. One can fly to Tofino also, thru Vancouver or Victoria, and rent a car at the tiny Tofino airport.
Superlatives all round. Chateaux and Relais at its best - gracious, sophistocated, lowkey luxury.

Room Tip: They're all great - as far as I know. Different price points, but all have sea views. We stayed...

We had a memorable stay in Tofino recently with a two night stay at the beautiful Wickaninnish Inn and an unforgettable dinner at The Pointe Restaurant. Our room was a two-story, one bedroom loft with magnificent ocean views. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We did go whale watching and we did see some grey whales and lots of sea lions but the ride was so bumpy and rough it left much to be desired. The only problem with staying at the Wick, you don't want to ever leave.

Room Tip: You have to stay here at least once!

The "Wick" was a wonderful experience for our family. The rooms were well equipped, and very comfortable. We had a loft suite with a kitchen, living room and connecting double, which was ample room for 5 (over 1700 sq. ft.). The views from every window were wonderful, and everything we needed was provided including boots, rainwear, binoculars and music.
The tides and tidal pools were alive with sea life, and the hikes in the Tofino area were diverse.
The Chef prepared our freshly caught salmon in a variety of ways, and we feasted on fresh Dungeness crab in our own kitchen. Well worth the long trip from South Florida.

Room Tip: the suites attached to a double room makes for a great combination for a family

We really enjoyed two days spent at the Wickaninnish Inn at Tofino on Vancouver Island. We took ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo and rented a car from there. Its a long (3 - 4 hours) but beautiful drive up to Tofino but well worth making the trip. Magnificant natural forests and massive Douglas Fir trees

Wickaninnish Inn is built over a rocky headland, overlooking Chesterman Beach with views out to the Pacific Ocean. Rooms are very well appointed with a gas fire and great ocean views.

The staff are excellent. Several times during our stay we were more than impressed with the efforts of the Inn staff. Professional, friendly and always wanting to help.

Their Pointe Restaurant was also very good - see our seperate review.

Tofino is a 5 minute drive away - an interesting town with a lot of building and renovation going on.

If you have the time, make sure you visit Vancouver Island and visit Wickaninnish Inn.

Room Tip: I understand that all rooms have ocean views.

We had our wedding at the Wickaninnish earlier in the month and had the most wonderful experience. Our Wedding Coordinator, Laura, was absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a wedding where someone else takes care of every detail so you can focus on your day, the Wick is THE place to go. I cannot stop singing the praises of everyone we met at the Wick.

We ate at The Pointe restaurant twice, the first time was on our wedding night. Everyone was so kind, especially the Chef who called us in the morning to discuss the menu and tell me that if what I want isn't on the menu, he'll create it for me. Of course the menu was incredible and I didn't need to request anything different. My husband had the pork with foie gras and said it was the best meal he'd ever had. What a treat on our wedding night.

The next day we had a couples hot stone massage in a private "hut" above the ocean at the Ancient Cedars Spa. Oh my, it was so relaxing and heavenly. We really enjoyed the steam room afterwards too - we loved everything!

We also enjoyed breakfast and evening drinks at the Driftwood Cafe. Arthur was so friendly and helpful with selecting the perfect wine.

Our suite in the Beach Building was also incredible. When we were toured around it upon our arrival, we kept saying, 'Wow' to the view, the bathroom, the bed, the fireplace, etc. We really enjoyed spending time in our room sipping champagne on the balcony, borrowing a movie from the library and watching it in the sitting room.

Thank you to everyone at the Wick for making our wedding day and honeymoon the most amazing week ever; we can't wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary.

My partner and I spent 5 nights at the Wickaninnish last month. We have been before, and will be back. We stay in the newer Beach building, as we prefer the view of the beach, but I know lots of people prefer the view from the other which is nothing but ocean. Either way, it's pretty spectacular. The rooms are large, sound-proofed, and wonderfully comfortable. We found the concierge very helpful when we went on side trips. We have previously eaten in the restaurant, but didn't on this trip. For us the food it too rich, too fussy, too meaty, and too expensive. We prefer a restaurant in town called Sobo. Tofino is a 5 minute drive, or 15 minute bike ride. The hotel provides bikes and helmets free of charge!
