“Sensation Overload!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2010

To Stephen and the entire Pacific Sands Team.

A few months ago we enjoyed a wonderful weekend a your resort and it was a spectacular experience. From check in, to the drive home it was one of the most memorable trips we have been on. All staff were most efficient and friendly.

Creating our own gourmet meals to the sound of the breaking waves, walking on the wind swept beaches, the hot tub, and waking to the fireplace, sunrise, and of course the ocean was almost "sensation overload". We can't wait to return, but in the interim will settle on googling the Cox Bay Web Cam and remembering your great resort and our visit. You can be very proud of your facility, customer service, and overall professionalism of your operation.

best regards, Bill & Karen

I ventured to the Pacific Sands before and after New Years with my Labradoodle. The Resort was great and pet friendly. Every member of the staff that I came in contact with was friendly and helpful. The unit I stayed in was a very short walk to the beach and you could see the ocean from the patio. The beach was fabulous and the view is incredible. There is a fire pit where you can gather in the evening. Although there is no restaurant you can either take a short drive to Tofino where there are some very good restaurants or you can puchase some great ready to cook items at the front desk. The units themselves have everything you need. I would not hesitate recommending Pacific Sands to anyone who is looking for an escape to regain ones sanity.

I stayed in a pet friendly Villa and my Springer Spaniel and we had a fabulous time on the beach. A great addition to Pacific Sands are Ready to Go foods that you can purchase on site. I had a wonderful soup and even bought another to take home it was so tasty.

We went for Father's Day & my son's birthday. So much to explore. Right on the beach! rooms were large and fantastic. Loved the full kitchen although we ate out most of the time. Only thing missing is a restaurant onsite but Tofino just down the road. It's a little pricey but it was worth every penny!

I have only been to Tofino two other times and have stayed at two different places in Tofino, and can guarantee Pacific Sands will be my first & only choice for my next trip. The only two complaints about the resort are that it does not offer spa treatments or a restaraunt to wine & dine at.

Just got back from 3 nights in the Pacific Sands - Pacific Suite Luxury Villa (#36). It was wonderful for 2 couples as this unit's second bedroom also faces the ocean. Hot tub and view was amazing, stone throw to the beach and crashing waves. As they have noted in their last e-letter, the villa's are starting to show "slight" signs of general use and are all slotted for a general upgrade in 2010 - new bedding, carpet, appliances, furniture, lighting etc. Unit was spotlessly clean, kitchen was well stocked (although it is good they are putting in a new stove as it is VERY slow), and ample towels were provided. We got a great "fall deal" on the room (~$350CAN + taxes) which is regularly ~ $500 CAN, not sure how this compares to others but you really can't put a price on the location and view. Shared between two couples this is very reasonable.
Can't wait to go back (again and again).

This resort’s ideal location on Cox Bay offers an incredible palette of subjects and moods for artists no matter the weather or the season. Better yet, it offers classy but comfortable accommodation – and every unit has a view of the beach and ocean.

People come here for serious storm-watching and complimentary slickers await guests inside each front door. It’s quite a colourful sight to watch all the yellow jackets beetling along the sand in the West Coast “mist” or surf’s spray.

Our group of eight, five of us keen painters, stayed in two spacious villas for four nights in October. Floor-to-ceiling windows allowed us to stay dry inside while painting the rain pelting over the ocean. We also sheltered in the covered fire pit area for a different perspective.

When the sun came out, we all rushed to grab the glorious beach vistas and a number of fine paintings were done by all.

Each Pacific Sands unit has a full kitchen and we enjoyed gathering in one villa or another for friendly art critiques and pot-luck dinners at the end of each day. Our group are anxious to return again next year and others are already asking if they can join us.

By the way, I’ve been going to Pacific Sands with family and friends since they opened in 1973 and I’ve never had a bad time yet.
