“Paradise on the Pacific”

A fabulous resort for private relaxation in beautiful Tofino. The room was very large, perfectly clean, and very nicely appointed with great views of the ocean. For those who want to prepare food, a full kitchen is available and stocked with tools and vessels. The bathroom is small but adequate and plenty of closet space is available. Customer service was excellent, The only complaint we had was a mattress that was too soft for our backs. NO PROBLEM - we were thrilled to learn just a couple of months later that new mattresses await our next visit as room improvements were done shortly after we left! The owners are very customer service directed with an eye toward expansion and renovation. When you arrive you are given a list of local places of interest, restaurants that are nearby, menu types and price ranges, information about the food that is brought to the resort by a local provider, relevant information about the locale, etc. This is a a PERFECT oceanfront resort, reasonably priced and hidden amidst a lush landscape that fronts a private, sandy beach. A community grill enclosure is available for social get-togethers and evening marshmallow roasts. Landscape seating is carefully created along the shoreline so that privacy is insured. Our room had an enclosed porch facing the sea, a protected yet visually open setting for meals, chats, or relaxed reading. We awoke each morning with an unobstructed view of the great Pacific and the sounds of surf rolling in. No restaurant is on site, but very good food is available to the premises via a local provider, a service we greatly appreciated! Less than 5 mins away, is a great little open air grill where fresh seafood is prepared daily, and breakfast sandwiches are prepared early - DELICIOUS food! We fell so in love with this little grill that we returned day after day to gather our food for private meals on our porch where we watched surfers riding huge waves. This is a surfing haven! Sunset Point, just outside our room, offered stunning views of the sun falling into the Pacific. Wildlife is abundant - imagine seeing black bears foraging for food along Tofino's shoreline in the early afternoon and later seeing whales swimming while dining oceanfront in Ucluelet! Paradise in British Columbia!

We spent two nights at Pacific Sands. Last fall I spent a few nights at the Wickaninnish, so I feel I can compare. Both resorts have beautiful rooms and properties. Pacific Sands has Villas, which are very comfortable for families.
We had a two bedroom, 2.5 bathroom villa closer to the beach than anything at the Wick. The other advantage is that a full kitchen is included. We bought crabs from the lady across the street from the gas station for $10 each. Out kitchen was outfitted with a pot meant for a crab boil and many claw crackers.
The Wick is high end, I would say that Pacific Sands is Mid range. Our villa cost a little less than one room at the Wick and we could cook our own meals. There is also an option to have your breakfast delivered and a nightly BBQ, so if you don't want to go far you won't starve.

Room Tip: Get a Villa, but not at the end for the best view.

Nestled on Cox Bay in tofino, waking up to large windows overlooking the waves and beach, simply amazing. The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated matching the laid back feel that Tofino oozes. Comfy furniture, beds, gas fireplaces, and a large deck that is steps away from the sand. The price was affordable, also provided is a fully equipped kitchen that allows you to eat in (being that tofino has some pretty steep dining prices), with also access to bbq's and charcoal pits. I will definitely be back, this place is worth every penny spent.

Pacific Sands has been our go to place for over ten years. We are never disappointed. The resort provides everything we need... great rooms, amazing beach access and a comfortable feeling. The Gazebo is perfect for grilling up some dinner, roasting marshmallows with our kids or having a cocktail! The beach is amazing for long relaxing walks or playing with the kids! Pacific Sands Rocks!

Just got back from 3 nights at Pacific Sands with 3 other couples. We booked into 2 of the beachfront villas. What a place! The villas were magnificent and the weather was great too. Our unit had a hot tub on the deck and it made it extra special. A few couples had infants along and the noise was not a problem as these units are well built. We rode bikes into the town of Tofino on the Saturday which I recommend. The SOBO frozen dinners and snacks are a must which can be purchased at the office if you don't feel like cooking. Check in was easy, as was check out...We ill be back

Pacific Sands Beach Resort is beautifully situated on Cox Bay. All the rooms and suites seem to have a view of the beach or the ocean. It is so nice to be able to walk right out onto the beach. There is a lovely trail out to Sunset Point, and the beach is beautiful. We love to bash the waves.

Room Tip: All the rooms and suites are great.

I have just returned from a visit to Vancouver which included a 3 day trip to the Tofino area of Vancouver Island.
I was in a party of 5 which included my wife and sister along with her best friend and husband.
My sister's friend & husband live on the island and had stayed at the Pacific Sands Beach Resort a few years ago. They said it was wonderful and they weren't lying!

We stayed in the 3 bedroomed beach front villa which was fantastic. Two of the 3 bedrooms have balconies with sea views as does the living area. Our bedroom had a slightly raised soaker tub that gave you wonderful views of the Pacific surf crashing in to Cox Bay. I thought I was in a James Bond movie!

Every detail within the villa had been considered and catered for. The downstairs was fully wheechair accessable (though that was not a requirement for our party), and the kitchen was fitted with everything that you could possibly need as was the dining and living areas.

The location for me was simply stunning! We were a matter of yards from the beautiful white sands of Cox Bay which is a mile long. One of the first things we saw flying over the bay was a huge adult Bald Eagle, a majestic sight indeed.

The whole peninsular leading to Tofino at the end has breathtaking beaches (Long Beach on it's own is 16km of unbroken white sand!) and rainforests, a large part of which is the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Tofino is a lovely small town with a "to die for" backdrop of water and mountains. Some great First Nations cultural art & gifts to be admired (and bought!) and excellent restaurants (we all loved the "Schooner").

My only regret is that we could only spend 3 of our 15 days there. Would I recommend it to anyone else? Yes, without any doubt! The changeable weather means that it is not a sun worshipers paradise, but that would be a waste in my opinion. Such natural unspoilt beauty and gourgeous flora and fauna is rare. Keep it as it is and enjoy it for what it is!

Room Tip: Variety of room layouts. Research first.
