“Paradise at one end of the earth!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2008

We had a week in Whistler followed by 4 days sightseeing in Vancouver and after the ski trip and the buzzing around we arrived in the afternoon in Tofino. We had booked the Ocean Breeze suite (my husband and I and 2 x teenagers). It was everything I had hoped for from the website and it was a fabulous couple of days.

We just chilled out - enjoyed the spectacular views of the waves crashing on the beach and the surfers braving the chilly waters. It snowed quite a bit during the couple of days but it didn't matter as Todd and Lynda supply very practical rainjackets and leggings and wellies. We went walking on the beach and it was amazing just to stroll along in the snow/rain with the wind and the waves crashing in the background. We visited the Pacific Rim Park and on the recommendation of Todd walked the Schooner Trail and the Rainforest Trail. These were both lovely walks through the forest on a wooden boardwalk (lots of steps but well worth the little bit of effort!)

The suite was very relaxing and oh so comfortable - nice comfy lounging area and a lovely glass sunroom with blankets so you could lie and read and enjoy the view - all at once!

Fresh coffee was supplied and Todd even allowed us to use the washing machine and dryer if we wanted!

This is a GREAT venue and if you are thinking of travelling to Tofino you could not stay in a better location. Lots of people have passed some wonderful moments in the Ocean Breeze Suite and the visitors book of comments is a worthy read also.

You should go there so you can add to the book yourself!

We stayed in the Lookout Suite for the first four nights of our honeymoon and could not have been more delighted with our choice. We were able to relax completely and found we needed to do very little except enjoy the amazing surroundings, the peaceful time together and all the thoughtful and generous hospitality. Todd and Lynda were the most wonderful hosts, on hand whenever we needed anything but also giving us freedom, space and privacy. They went out of their way to help us and we felt as if we were staying with friends. We borrowed the bikes and cycled to the Botanical Gardens, where the restaurant lived up to their recommendation. We loved watching Todd teaching Murphy the dog how to go surfing. Of all the places we stayed on our trip, this is the one that calls us most strongly to return.

The Chesterman Beach Bed & Breakfast is incredible - right on the beach and extremely comfortable. We stayed in the Lookout Room - overlooking the beach and it was incredible. The room and bed is extremely comfortable - perfect for connecting with that special someone or just unplugging from the grind. The view and the beach are phenomenal. In one weekend we experienced the extremes of Tofino weather – sunny and gorgeous, then their famous winter storms. In both cases, the beach and the Chesterman Beach B&B did not disappoint.

As I mentioned in the title, the B&B was great – exceeded our wildest dreams – but it was Todd and Lynda that made the difference. Lynda’s breakfasts were an excellent way to start the day and they were always quick to help – suggesting activities, recommending restaurants, and even helping with the travel challenges that occasionally occur due to Tofino’s famous weather patterns. In all cases, Todd and Lynda were ready and able to help out or just provide their unique perspective on this beautiful vacation destination.

If you’re considering visiting Canada’s Vancouver Island – I highly recommend that you make the effort to visit beautiful Tofino. If you’re going to visit, Tofino – definite add the Chesterman Beach Bed & Breakfast to your consideration set for places to stay – you won’t be disappointed. This is a fantastic vacation spot… enjoy!

We stayed in the Ocean Breeze Suite, which had a beautiful view of the ocean. There is also a great little sunroom, perfect for naps, and reading a book. Down by the beach there is an area where you can make a bonfire at night, very relaxing to sit by the fire, with a glass of wine, and listen to the ocean.
There are two bikes available by Todd and Linda that you can take into town, or ride on the beach. The sand is hard packed in some areas, so riding a bike on the sand is very easy and very beautiful.
We can't say enough about Todd and Linda, both are very personable and go out of their way to make your stay wonderful.
On the last day we did a kayaking tour, we did one at 5:30 pm, which worked out great. It is absolutely beautiful to be out on the water while the sun is starting to set. Chris was our guide, and we went with the company that is located across from Schooners Restaurant.

My husband and I recently spent 4 days in Tofino. We stayed in the Garden Cottage and had such a great time. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this B & B. The cottage was so quaint and homey, we felt so relaxed the minute we walked in. After a long day of hiking or beachcombing, we looked forward to returning to the cottage to relax and unwind. The pics on the internet do not do this place justice! The owner Todd is so friendly and makes you feel like the place is yours the minute you walk onto his property. By far this
is one of my most favorite B & B's.

Wow, just reading the other reviews brings me back to our perfect stay at your lovely B&B! The garden cottage is my favourite place that I've stayed in of any in the world, with the seclusion, the quiet only interrupted by the sounds of the waves and the birds. It is truly magical. Todd and Lynda, you made our wedding week even more wonderful than I expected it to be, and for your help and generosity, I thank you! We will be back again and again, as I will not be able to stay anywhere else in Tofino from now on!

Sincerely,

Theresa Boles

This was one the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in, anywhere in the world. The perfect setting - from the Lookout Suite just stunning views of the beach and the Pacific Surf, such a pleasure to walk on the beach and watch the sun set. A great welcome from Lynda and Todd,
and helpful advice over what to do and where to eat. The breakfasts were so beautiful we had to take photos of them, and we loved the daily information sheet with tide times, temperature etc - a really thoughtful touch. The privacy of the Suite was lovely, everything you could want was there from guide books to coffee machine. We shared a bottle of excellent Gray Monk Latitude 50 rose on the beach one evening with Lynda - BC wines, once rather a joke, are now excellent. We whale watched, bear watched, ate marvellous meals at Rainforest Cafe and Sobo at Tofino Botanic Gardens, all on Lynda's recommendation. And all this in three days of perfect sunshine, temperatures breaking all records! If only Tofino was closer to UK! - our stay in this beautiful part of the world in this wonderful B&B was as close to heaven as it gets. Thank you Lynda and Todd.
