“Great for family vacations!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

When we first arrived on site, I was pleasantly surprised that the grounds were as beautiful and clean as the pictures seen on the web. Their welcome was outstanding and so was their help every time we asked for it. We enjoyed one of the biggest cabins with a hot tub. The inside was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I thought I was disappointed not to have a beachfront cabin(too large a party), but the two-minute walk to the beach made me forget about that. I appreciated that the resort was very close to a surf rental shop (live to surf), I was able to walk there to get some info before renting a surfboard the next day. The kids enjoyed the movies they could borrow, as they were exhausted from their days of beach activities. My overall experience lets me believe I would go back anytime!

We went on our honeymoon to Tofino and stayed in one of their beach front cabin13 for 2. While it was not as private as we would have liked (our fault - not theirs!) the amenities provided allowed us to retreat to the cabin and feel like we were the only ones around. The log cabin was extremely clean, had absolutely everything we needed to cook some fantastic meals (dishes, pots, pans, etc), had nice white linens and even had everything we needed to accommodate our dog! We had a fireplace with all the kindling and wood we needed, a fantastic jacuzzi tub and a bbq. They had a great selection of complimentary movies - which came in handy as it rained the whole time and an easy linen exchange service (they don't even have to come into the cabin!). The beach access was stunning as were the sunsets and was close to everything. We would definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: if you want a private spot let them know what you are looking for

Family and I had the pleasure of staying in one of the cabins for 2 nights. We knew what to expect based on other tripadvisor posts and photos and weren't surprised or disappointed on what we found upon arrival.
The cabins are very basic and cozy with all ammenities expected in a 1 bedroom/kitchenette.
Futon folds down nicely and our family of 4 was comfortable during our stay.
The little things that set this resort apart from others is the hot tub (optional), fire wood provided and refilled and Ice bags are complimentary.
Take some wood down to beach and have a fire. Take a bag of ice and some cold beer with you.
The landscaping around the resort is awesome. Very well maintained gardens and walkways.
Beach out front is superb and good for all hours of day in low or high tide.
Best bang for buck close to Tofino.
3 min to town,1 min to basic resort stores and only 5-10 minutes to excellent surfing.
Only negative comments I'd make is the laundry seemed expensive at $3 per wash or dry. Cost us $24 to do 4 loads. But since I haven't used a laundry in 20 years maybe that's the going rate now?!?!
As an RV family, the sites looked very tight and very narrow roads around park. I'd look elsewhere if I came with a trailer.
I'd come again and recommend to family.
Book well in advance.

Dear Stormelectric.

I am pleased you enjoyed your time with us during your recent visit to the area. I agree with you that we are not nor do we want to be a 5 star property as there are too many resorts trying to be that in this area. We are focused on being a great family per friendly resort that offers something to everyone and we do that very well.

Crystal Cove is a very unique mixed use resort with 34 unique log cabins perched over the Pacific Ocean and 70 very private RV sites that can accommodate up to 36 foot units. The sites are well maintained but do offer much foliage between sites to allow the utmost privacy. We do have some sites in our Eagle Crescent area that can accommodate bigger rigs and we are looking at adding a couple of pull through sites in the near future.

I agree that if you want 5 star experience, I can recommend nearby resorts that your would love. If you want a clean, quiet carefree vacation where you can either put your feet up in style and just relax or jump into the many adventures the area has to offer, then we are the place for you.

Thanks again for your comments.

We stay at this location twice a year. In March we stay in the cabins and the service and amenities are fantastic. In the summertime we stay in the RV park. The staff is incredible, the management wonderful and the grounds clean and beautiful. We love staying here and will continue to come for many more years. We have high expectations and we believe we get what we want in the privacy, comfort and beauty in a location.

Our family of 4 plus our dog stayed in cabin 30. The cabin itself was nice, well equipped and comfortable. It has a private fire pit hidden away which was really nice. However, this particular cabin is beside the playground, separated by bushes and trees. The trees and bushes do NOT cut down the noise so all conversations, screaming kids, yelling parents and etc can be heard through the windows at all times of the day. This would be a great cabin if you wanted to be near the playground and didn't mind kids running through the bushes, peaking through your windows or the noise. Access to the beach was great and we had a great time exploring the beach and enjoying the treetop hot tub.

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet and less vehicle traffic get the cabins closer to the beach.

Dear Kayd1966

I am sorry that your experience at Crystal Covewas less than perfect. It is true this can be a busy place with 70 RV sites and 34 log cabins that can sleep up to 8 people we can have up to 500 people on site at anytime.

Cabin 30 in which you stayed is the closest one we have to our incredible kid fun park and as it is the peak of summer there are alot of kids there at any given time of day. As we book our cabins and RV sites for for our peak summer months up to a year in advance you may not have had another choice of cabin on short notice. Had we had any availability we would have moved you upon request but often in our peak months we are sold out and cannot accommodate a move.

We have many cabins that are incredibly private and away from the playground that are not much more expensive. The other choice is to come in ether the winter storm season or the shoulder seasons on June or September when the kids are in school and the playground is much more quite.

We hope you will give us another chance to get you into a cabin you can be very happy with on your next visit.

Sincerely

J.J. Belanger

When we reserved, there was only one 6-person cabin left. We took it and crossed our fingers. It was the cabin with the very best view!! Amazing. Daily services provided ... perfect. Landscaping ... wonderful. Staff -- office, services and grounds -- excellent ... to be proud of. We left things behind ... we were called immediately and items were shipped -- another plus. The internet connection was adequate ... no complaints from me -- mostly used to post low-res photos on Facebook so our family and friends could see what a fabulous place Crystal Cove was. And to documrnt its stunning sunsets. We'll be back ... because when you've experienced the best, where else is there to go.

We, a group of four adults and a teenaged brother and sister stayed in one of their larger cabins a short walk to the beach. it also had a small hot tub on the balcony which was a very nice touch and most useful as the nights are quite cool. This resort is essentially a private camping resort with RV and campsites and some nicely appointed cabins and as such they do not really have a restaurant although they do have a coffee shop which is a required feature of any resort in Tofino. The staff was friendly and provided the kind of service you would expect from a high end resort. They also had nice extra touches such as free newspapers and firewood and excellent coffee for the coffee machine in the cabin.

Room Tip: Cabin 23 is big enough to hold three couples quite easily and could handle a fourth although it woul...
