“A beautiful place to stay”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Our family of three stayed at the Crystal Cove Beach Resort this fall in cabin number 12. It was just a perfect size for us. There was a cute little loft area where our son (7 years of age) loved to climb up to and sleep. There was only a little bit of room for our suitcases so we used the spare bedroom for that purpose.
This cabin was well equipped with almost everything that we required in the kitchen. Note that there isn't a blender though in case you like to make smoothies.
The beds were comfortable and the towels were big and soft. They stocked the wood for the fire often enough that we never ran out. We went in the rainy season so we always had a fire as it was quite cold outside. The hot tub was a welcome amenity to stave off the cold and it was lovely to watch the ocean waves from the tub.
We rarely had a chance to speak to the staff as we were always on the beach or enjoying our lovely cabin, but when we did at check in and check out they were very friendly and helpful.
This is a pet friendly place which is wonderful to see. We enjoyed watching all the dogs having a great time on the beach and grounds.
We would highly recommend Crystal Cove as a wonderful place to stay if you want to be close to the ocean. The sunsets were amazing!

Room Tip: If you want an ocean view - check out the map that Crystal Cove provides as there is a little "...

Dear Calgarydoodles40.

On behalf of the staff and I, we are very pleased your enjoyed your stay with us in cabin 12. It is one of our most popular family cabins and as you mentioned the loft for kids is the main reason.

We are 100% per friendly and as many of our cabins differ in size and amenities. You may choose another cabin for your next adventure that could include a treehouse for kids or a rainforest cabin with a hot tub two stories high in the rainforest.

Thanks again for your kind words and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sincerely

This is our first time staying here ( my parents have stayed a couple of times) and would definitely stay again. The cottages are well stocked, everything thought of, comfy beds, clean, well organized bin system for getting new towels etc, wood stocked 2 times daily for the wood stoves, clean and beautiful grounds and of course right on Mackenzie beach. Close to town for stocking up and friendly staff. They do have camp grounds as well. Would not think twice about recommending this place. Great job Crystal Cove.

Room Tip: Being on the beach is not necessary for us because we live on Vancouver Island but for visitors for...

Dear Carrie C.

We are very happy that you enjoyed your first ever stay with us at the Cove. We do our best to impress both new and returning guests with our dedicated team who put alot of effort into the beautification of our cabins, RV sites and of course our meticulous gardens and grounds.

We hope to see you again in the near future as you start to make this place an annual family retreat like so many of our return guests. Some which have been comming to the Cove every year for over 25 years.

Sincerely.

Stellar maintenance at this place. Beautiful resort, well-organized, friendly and professional staff. We stayed at an RV site. They are a little tight, but you do get great privacy from mature, manicured hedges. It is right beside the ocean. One minute walk from the site to the beach. Loans out DVDs, recent movies. Full services at site. Wifi at the lodge/reception area, as well as free coffee. Great playground for kids with a lot of whimsical touches. Very close to Tofino.

Room Tip: If picking an rv site, check to make sure it fits first.

We stayed for several days in a king cabin before camping at Pacific Rim national park. The owners are wonderful and property clean. Beach is fantastic and perfect for families. Really comfy beds and bedding, fully stocked kitchen and the best part was that it is very pet friendly. Will be staying again.

We decided last minute to try Crystal Cove for camping during the month of June. They luckily had space and we were fit into a really nice spot. It was a tad tight for us, but very private. We have a large rig and we noted other spots that would fit us for the next time (fingers crossed they are avail). What we loved, our family of a dog and 1 child, was that it is right next to the beach and was VERY pet friendly with a great playground area for the kids. Every single night, we'd head back down to the beach for the sunset walk and our dog and child could get yet another run. I loved the 'dog wash' as you come off the beach and back to the camp site. Water available for them and poop bags. Perfection. There is nothing at all I can say that is wrong with this campground. Full hookup too! BONUS. We heard nothing from the cabins around us and very little from the other campers. Free firewood was a definite plus because that meant we didn't have to lug our own in or get price gouged. Speaking of price, yes, it seems pricey initially, but when you factor in that you are getting full hookups, free firewood, and access to one of the most beautiful beaches on earth, it is a small price to pay for that kind of peace and quiet and those amenities. Very well managed as well and the staff always seem willing to entertain requests even though they are obviously busy with other customers. We will return - worth even spending the money on the ferry to get back there... next to Living Forest, this place is a must-stay and one of my ultimate favourites. We stayed for 4 nights.

We enjoyed 3 quiet nights in our RV. A lot of love has gone into building and maintaining this resort. Our site and the grounds were immaculate. We used to be in the nursery business and we were impressed by the lovely landscaping which made use of many native plants. The main office building and the surrounding trees were beautifully decorated for Christmas. The lady at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. We found the off-season camping rate to be a bit pricey but we would still consider staying here in the future.

Dear Murrpatt.

We are pleased that you enjoyed the serenity of winter camping at our resort. Many of our winter RV guests have come to love the choice of sites available, the free morning coffee, complimentary firewood and full hookups for a discounted rate off our peak summer rates.

So far this winter we have seen a doubling of numbers of RV's at the Cove to enjoy our warm climate and our winter storms with crashing waves. Our beach also becomes the spot to surf in the wintertime as the surge changes and our waves attract intermidiate nd beginner surfers to our shores.

We are truly pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we look forwrad to seeing you again next winter.

Sincerely

What I love about this resort is...everything.

The scenery. Warm, friendly front desk. Spectacular sandy beach dotted with tiny wind swept islands. Well stocked fireplaces. Cozy duvets. Hot tubs. Kid & dog welcoming. Even their landscaping uses local flora and is now more of a trip through a unique botanical garden.

Friends I know have returned for years and every year it just keeps getting better. This is a magical place where life slows down and takes on Island time. You'll never want to leave.

Room Tip: kids will love the playground, the beach and the Rainforest tree cabins - perfectly safe!
