we did the whale and bear whatching tours. For the bear tour our group was only 4 people big, so pritty much a private tour. the guide was excellent in spotting bears and other wildlife. In total we spotted about 6 bears 2 bald eagles and a sea lion on a 2h trip.
the whale watching was nothing else but excellent. We spotted only one gray whale but had the amazing luck of encountering a family of killer whale's with mum, dad and 3 baby's who were on a hunting trip. We asked the staff at the office and they said that their was a slim chance of seing an but we saw 5!

one point of criticism: when you read the brochures or flyers they stated 3h. for the entire tour. but your actually only whatching for about 2. since (and not only the whale centre) they start when you get the life suit at the office.
but none the less a great experience!!

This was a great trip. The speed boat we went out on was superb, more substantial than the zodiacs but equally exciting and fast. Our guide had been running trips for some 30 years but was genuinely passionate about his environment. We saw whales feeding, sealions, harbour seals, sea otters lazing, puffins and bald eagles too.
I would recommend this company.

John took a group of us to the Hot Springs and on the way we got to see a couple of whales. One whale was within a few metres of our boat and we had a splendid time whale watching. The day was chilly to begin with but we were snug and warm in our warm suits. John was knowledgeable and had lots of information to pass on. He patiently waited for us while we went to the hot springs and brought us back safely. We had a whale of a time!

I've been in Tofino several times, but this was a bit difference as I saw more than 15 sea otters and 5 grey whales on the way to hot sping- The tour guy was really nice and tried to catch all the interesting thing on the way. Everything was good except that the price is a bit expensive.

We went out with John on a bear watching tour and it was a really awesome experience. We got warm suits and even raincoats to protect us from the wind and the rain. The boat he uses is very quiet and doesn't disturb wildlife as many of the other boats that were out that day. Therefore we could get super close and the bears didn't care about us at all. In the 2,5h we saw 9 black bears, 5 bald eagles and some seals. The highlight was the mother bear sleeping in a tree with her two pups. John is very cool and can tell you a lot about the spotted animals.
To sum up a great trip and I can only recommend doing the bear watching with John!
