Owner description: Long Beach, the longest beach of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, spans an extraordinary 16km (10mi) along the west coast of Vancouver Island. Described by locals to be magical, you will be astonished by the amount of life that call the tidal pools home. You will be sure to find crabs, shells, starfish, sea urchins and much more. As the surf comes crashing in, you will find surfers from around the world carving through the peaks of the waves. As the water settles, it gracefully rides up the beach with peaceful trickles and shimmering light from the breathtaking sunset crossing the colourful horizon. Long Beach is truly a rejunivating getaway for all ages. Whether you're looking to kickback, explore, adventure, hike, surf, or just take one of those long walks on the beach, Long Beach has it all.

“My Favourite BC Destination”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

I've travelled all over BC and have to admit that this remains my all time favourite destination. I love the winter storms, the warm summer days, the long mostly deserted beaches, and watching the surfers brave the waves. The only problem for campers is that you have to reserve in advance to get into the national park campground and even the private campgrounds sometimes fill up. Also, the fees to use the park are getting high.

“kids loved the waves, beachcombing”

Cold, even in the middle of summer, but it is the Pacific. Quiet, peaceful, easy access. Lots of shells, etc.

“Some things never change”

Some things never grow old. Walking this beach with the wind in your face and the sound of waves rolling in from the Pacific. Great hike from Incinerator rock to Combers Beach.

“Breathtaking views and nature at it's best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

The first time I visited here was camping on the beach in the 70's and it was spectacular then as a teenager. I have been back twice since then in the 90's and a couple of years ago and was so impressed that it remains nature at it's very best....utterly breathtaking and amazing....definately a must see!
