We had the opportunity to visit Salt Spring Island for the first time and loved it! Our last few moments on the island were spent with our daughter’s friend acting as tour guide and she suggested we drive out to Vesuvius Bay for the “Best fish & chips on the island”. Two of us had the fish & chips and two of us had the (made from scratch) clam chowder with garlic toast. The fish & chips were, indeed, fantastic! The clam chowder lacked some flavour but after a few sprinkles of salt (something we RARELY do) it was quite enjoyable and the garlic toast was superb. Our waitress was prompt, friendly and helpful – even offering a small sample of the sandwich of the day filling to aid in the decision to order it or not. Good value for the money in a cozy spot with a wonderful seaside view. We hope to go back!
