Pretty high up on the mountain, we visited on a slightly over cast day and couldn't see much due to the cloud, but looking at some of the pictures, I bet it's stunning to see on a nice sunny day. - It is a logging road, so take your time and keep going, you'll think you took a wrong turn somewhere, but just keep going to the top! :)

The road to the top gets extremely rough about 2/3 the way up with large pot holes that could swallow a sub-compact car! We took it slow and easy and made it to the top, but I definitely would not take a lowered vehicle on this road. An AWD or 4X4 would be best, for the better ground clearance. BC parks - please address the road and please repair the toilet paper dispenser in the facility.

Fantastic views, lots of trails to walk. The road going to the top is poor in spots and the potholes are quite bad. Glad we didn't have our old vw it wouldn't have liked it at all.

You can drive right to the top of the mountain to get your views. Probably don't want to take your high performance low rider vehicle though. The road is a little rough.

Whether you drive, bike or walk to the top of Maxwell Mountain you will be rewarded with amazing views that look over to Mount Bruce, and the Fulford Valley, down into Burgoyne Bay to Samsun Narrows and across to Vancouver Island. There is a high mesh fence to protect people from plunging down the steep rock cliff below. There are walking trails that are for the most part not well marked but known to the locals and a few old logging roads scattered about as well. But the main draw is the view at the top. A parking lot and latrine are provided. The road up to the peak is about 6 milers from the main road turnoff, with about 3 miles of it being gravel and it is steep in parts.
