“A little peace on earth”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Wow a paradise on earth in Henrietta's rose cottage just by the water. We spent two days enjoying peace and harmony. Nothing luxurious but so cosy
Shared the house with friends and enjoyed the view and the fantastic salt spring island atmosphere

I have been going to Spindrift since the early 80's - most of my stays in Henrietta, most of them alone with a dog, some as a couple, some with friends. Whatever the reason to visit, the feeling upon arrival is always the same - peace. The peninsula is insanely beautiful, the views, smells, sounds of the sea - fantastic. The cottages have everything you need, are always clean with personal touches in the artwork, the pottery, the dog treats on the table. The owner and staff respect guest privacy while the wildlife (deer, eagles, sea otters among others) are around for entertainment - a perfect balance. I always leave feeling refreshed & relaxed. I have never had a bad visit, or experience there. It is simply the best place to be.

Room Tip: All the cabins have great views - some give more privacy than others; some are great for getting a g...

We stayed at Constance Cottage and loved its tranquility. Local artwork fills the cottage, comfortable bed and linens, private deck overlooking the ocean and relaxing private woodlands with paths to rocky point. Resident herd of friendly deer greeted us and ate from our hands. We walked down to Welford Point and the white shell beaches twice a day, just to feeling the sea wind on our faces, breathe deeply and listen to the waves. A rare and wonderful place to enoy our 30th Anniversary. Highly recommend to all adults needing R & R.

Room Tip: All cabins have private decks with ocean views. Only 2 cabins are a duplex and we stayed in one of...

There are 6 cottages and the owners home on a 5 acre peninsula that is gated and private. Each cottage is decorated with some of the islands incredible artists and artisans work. We loved the fireplace, kitchenette, the decor and everything about our cabin. Each cottage has beautifully private decks, lovely views of the surrounding inlets, and enough trees and shrubs it is easy to forget other people are there at all. Best of all the whole place has been maintained like a nature preserve. Deer and otters walk through the property daily. It is like the island used to be many years ago and every single guest I met has been going back over and over for up to 30 years. We spent hours roaming the rocks and beaches, walked the paths to the point every day and late into the evening and watched the moon rise through an arbutus trees. branches. Beachs! Perfection!

Room Tip: They are all lovely. Only difference is their sizes and their decore. Their web site helps you choos...

We stayed there for only three nights after a conference in Victoria. We had one of the pine log cabins. It was great all around. Well appointed cozy cabin, nice grounds, beaches. Deer were daily visitors. Great location close to Ganges and restaurants, etc. Would go back in a heart beat.

We had an awesome time, swimming off the rocks, sitting on the beach and walking along the nature paths The sun sets are beautiful from there. It is also close to the "Fun and Buzz" of saltspring Ganges for visiting the market and galleries . Highly recommended for ocean and nature lovers.

My wife and I have been coming to Spindrift on an annual basis for many years, usually staying for a week. We find it to be such a wonderful get-a-way, such a welcome change from the noise and pace of our hectic life in Vancouver. It is so absolutely peaceful here. Only six guest cottages are situated on this charming rural and wooded 6 acre setting on the ocean. Spindrift caters only to adults and we consistently find the other guests to be very quiet.

Our daily or twice-daily short walk through the forest to the peninsula point is one of the highlights of our stay... The forest is populated by trees native to the area: Douglas Fir, Arbutus, Garry Oak. Deer and plenty of birds can be seen both in the forest and around the cottages. And sometimes even an otter or two is spied along the shore! The shoreline consists of both small sandy cove beaches and coastal rocky sections. The tranquil path along the way to the peninsula point offers lovely views. We recommend sitting out on the point in the quiet morning or the evening twilight. It’s magical. We thank the owner, Sharon, for her stewardship of this very special place.

The cottages have fully equipped kitchens and the bathrooms are supplied with the usual amenities. We enjoy staying in either of the units located in the only duplex cottage, i.e. in either “Constance” or “Amelia”. Both of these units have two decks, one offering views of the ocean, and the other of the lawns, shrubs, and trees around the cottage.

The cottages are very comfortable and clean. The setting is enchanting. Highly recommended.
