“Do not rent the cabin”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

The cabin has a beautiful view, but that is it. The cabin was not clean by any means with every towel smelling bad, dirty floors, dishes not clean and overall musty smell... lots of spiders. I would not recommend .

Room Tip: Do not stay at cabin

My family of a young couple and a 6 years old daughter stayed at Ocean view suite for 3 days for May,31 to June 2,2013.If you want away from city experience, surrounded by wildlife, silence, but nature sounds-that is the right choice. Our daughter enjoyed feeding the horses and sheep (thanks to Randy, who was endlessly patient with the curious one and answered all the questions).Breakfast were always a piece of art:generous, delicious and simply wonderful. We discovered so many things to do at the Island!
Thank you,Diane and Randy.Look forward to come back again!!

My family and I travelled to Salt Spring Island as our first family trip in years! There was 11 of us ranging from age 10-80!! It was a family holiday in celebration of my dad's 80th birthday! We rented the entire B&B. The hosts were wonderful, and prepared delicious breakfasts every morning. We were, however, disappointed that the ammenities that were listed on the website were not available to us during our stay. We planned on enjoying our time at the B&B rather than travelling around (as it is in a fairly remote location), which is why the ammenities to us were very important. The Pool was empy, we were not offered to use the Hot tub, I don't even know if the hot tub was working or not, and the games room, which we were thrilled about, was packed to the roof with boxes. We were quite disappointed that these were listed, but not available for our use during our 3 night stay. We found others ways to enjoy our time which required us to leave the B&B to do so. Would I stay here again? Only if we could enjoy what was listed. If not, I might as well stay closer to town. If you're not ammused by those ammenities, then it's a great place. We did have 2 children aged 10 and 12 that were quite upset there was no pool.

I was a little unsure about staying at a bed and breakfast since it seemed awkward to sit and eat breakfast at a table with unfamiliar people and make uncomfortable conversation, but to my surprise, it was a great way to discover new things to do and see on the island. Diane and Randy (the owners) were very personable and always willing to answer questions we had or suggest fun things to do and ways to get there. On top of the island being absolutely beautiful, the bed and breakfast offered so much to do. We went kayaking, played with the dog, pet and fed the horses, held the chickens, ate delicious breakfasts, and most of all relaxed while taking in the beautiful view of the ocean. I would definitely come back again and again and again. Thanks Diane and Randy!

We stayed in July of 2011. Stayed in the cabin many times up till then. Everytime we stayed there it was fine but slowly getting less cleaned up. On this occasion, it was unacceptable for $200 a night. I realize it is the gulf islands and dirt and spiders are the way it is BUT: Mold and mildew and someone elses hair, soap reside etc. in the shower. The towels smelled very musty and gross and the floor wasn't so much as even swept.
Dust was thick. The cabin itself was falling into disrepair: very hard to open and close the patio doors even and not one clean place to sit on all the many chairs outside.the decks hadn't been swept or cleaned in quite some time. I think they just are too busy at the main house B&B and forgot about the cabin. Really nice folks and loved the cabin but, It's too bad because we will never go there again.

Harbour B&B was a wonderful getaway with fabulous and hospitable hosts, Diane and Randy. My husband and I came in January with our 18 month old daughter, arriving late at night via ferry yet the hosts were flexible with our arrival and we were greeted with a lovely Seaside suite with large jacuzzi bath in the private bathroom. The breakfasts were delicious and generous, and exceeded our expectations. Our daughter loved the nearby horses, chickens, and sheep on the large acreage surrounding the Inn. We would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a comfortable and quiet retreat with amazing breakfasts and friendly hosts.

We normally avoid B&Bs, but this one is different - the rooms have separate entrances, and feel quite private, with their own decks. The hike down to the water is well worth it, with kayaks and canoes to for guests to use. Excellent breakfasts, which eliminate the need for lunch altogether. Plus an idyllic setting, with great views from the hot tub, and plenty for kids to do - horses to pet, a lovely dog, trampoline, small pool, even a games area in a converted garage. A beautiful property, and lovely hosts. We can't recommend it enough.
