It is a short but very steep climb to summit. It took awhile but I was able to locate 3 out of the 12 doors that are hidden amongst the trails. The view at the top is spectacular. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful hiking through Pine and Madrona forests on the West Coast of Salt Spring Island. We took the trail that starts on Trustee Road and stuck to hike #3 which provides the most coastal views. Moderate climb and beautiful views of Vancouver Island. Watch for the magical fairy doors hidden along the way!

This trail is worth your time but bring water and your hiking boots! It is 1.5 miles and 1000 vertical feet one way. Start at the Trustees Trail head. Go up trail #2 at the intersection take trail #1 about 10 o'clock.... It is steep, hiking slow but keep your eyes peeled for little mystic surprises along the way. Stay on trail #1 to the summit! View is amazing. Recommend going to the middle view point for the best mystic surprise of all. Go down trail #2 for a much less steep decline. We did this with many kids youngest being 4 and they flew up this trail with their treasures to leave at these amazing little surprises! Best hike on the island.

The hike was a bit steep, but it was totally worth getting to the summit. Lovely views, and of course the added fun of looking for "fairy doors".

The hike is worth the view at the top! It is an uphill grind with some dips and level spots. The path is well traveled so easy to follow. Look for fairy doors as you wander in the woods!
