“Great meal!”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

The menu is on a white board and changes frequently. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and with the right amount of spice for a chipotle cream. The service was excellent and the dessert menu to die for. Worth every penny!

Love the dining experience at Cow bay Cafe - excellent and varied menu, well presented and just the right amount of seasoning to actually taste the food items. Desserts are to die for!

“Maybe if you're ordering fish ...”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

After eating fresh fish all summer long because we fish, we opted for the ribs and potato enchilada's . Pretty disappointed. I suspect due to all the wonderful reviews that fish is their specialty. There was not a lot of meat on the ribs, and were lacking in flavor and the potato enchiladas were also fairly bland. For the price we paid - $90 w/tip for four beers and two entrees, we were really bummed! The service was good and the place was packed - people were obviously enjoying their fish dinners. Soooo ....

“Proof that you don't need candles and fine linen to eat well”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

We've got just one night in the town and we asked our B&B hosts where is best to eat. They recommend the Cow Bay Cafe right next door. A little too obvious we thought, but went to have a look as we headed into town. It looked like a cheap diner or cafe with melamine tables, only around 20-30 covers and no signs of damask napkins and fine silverware. As we peered through the door, Adrienne came to meet us, asked if we were planning to eat there and she was already nearly fully booked but could squeeze the 5 of us in. We then decided that we might as well, at least it wasn't far to go home afterwards.
We were advised that 7:30 was the best time (and with 2 of the group coming from Spain where restaurants don't open until 10pm!) so that night we duly pitched up at the allotted time.
The restaurant was full, we were the last table and then the most amazing experience began. The menu was on the whiteboard, I don't recall a wine list but the evening has gone down as one of my best culinary experiences - and I'm old !
Adrienne produced some fabulous wines and every course was a delight. We paid $60 each for the meal but that included 4 bottles of wine.
We would make the journey back to Prince Rupert just for a return visit to the Cow Bay Cafe

“A cozy and delicious dinner.”
Reviewed October 25, 2012 via mobile

I had a wonderful relaxing dinner in this cozy little cafe. The food was delicious, very clean and fresh, not greasy. They have limited quantities and they close early, so show up early. The service was fantastic, it shows that they actually care about both food and customers.
