BC Ferries booked us a deluxe harborview king room. Awesome. Shower is overv the top with 20? Nozzles fantastic view of the harbor. Good location to walk water front trail to cow bay. Excellent breakfast. But the walls are thin. Heard neighbor snore all night.

Room Tip: Harbor view!!!

We took a road trip West from a summer work experience and decided to stop in at PR. We were on vacation so we thought about splurging a little to try the fancy place in town. The Crest was beautiful from the outside though the parking was crowded. The ladies (one older and one younger) at the front desk were busy chatting to each other when we got in and I wasn't about to interrupt. We stood in front of the desk with our bags for about 2 minutes before they asked us what we needed.

We were probably a bit younger than their typical clientele there and after we asked for two rooms the older lady made it clear that we weren't welcome. "We don't want any noise complaints and you can't be all in one room at the same time. It's lights out by 11PM." I was a bit shocked at her blunt manner but inquired if my friends could come by if we were to stay a suite instead. Her reply was no and that "we would be too noisy for the other guests". While her implication that young people are noisy is not unfounded, her treatment of guests left much to be desired. We decided to be young somewhere else.

The Crest was recommended to me by locals (in keeping with the many positive TA reviews) - traveled to Prince Rupert on business. Waterfront room, fantastic view, clean, comfortable bed, great shower, very nicely appointed. Good food, great lounge, friendly staff, center of town. I liked everything about The Crest and will stay there again and highly recommend it.

I stayed here for business and I must admit this is one of the better places work had me stay. the room was great and had a corner suite over looking the water. the room was extremely well kept, though not as modern as other places, was still pretty good. the binoculars were a nice touch as especially we got to see dolphins swimming past the next morning while in the restaurant. Parking is a bit of a pain as there is limited parking out front and don't bother trying to park anything but a small size car out back as I left some paint on the downward ramp and I was only driving a short box f150, extremely tight corner.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Crest. I am pleased to hear you took advantage of the binoculars and experienced a visit from a pod of North Coast Locals; The Prince Rupert Harbour is a magical place with the combination of port activity and wildlife.

Again thank you for sharing your comments.

I stayed here on the recommendation of a coworker and I'm glad I did! The whole place had a great feel to it and there were great little touches (like binoculars in the room for whale watching). My only comment would be that the gym is very awkward (a few floors underground and not wheelchair accessible).

Room Tip: When I arrived I found out my room had been upgraded to ocean view - so perhaps if you're travel...

We chose the Crest after reading Tripadvisor reviews of hotels in Prince Rupert. It was a great choice. Arriving late from the BC Ferries trip up from Port Hardy, checkin was smooth and our sea view room was very good indeed. As others have said, don't be tempted by the cheaper rooms - the view over the Hecate Strait is a must. The King bed was very comfortable and the only slightly adverse comment would be about the smallish bathroom. There was a coffee machine in the room but we also asked for a kettle and it was there in minutes.

Breakfast service was good in a room with panoramic views of the Strait, town and hills. The food was good (massive portions) but we would have preferred the option of smaller portions of different things. But for that, it would have been a full 5-spot excellent rating.

A short stroll to the fashionable Cow Bay area by the dock is easy and worthwhile. And then a dip in the outdoor hot-tub, even in a shower, enjoying the view again was a further positive to the experience. Don't stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: Sea view, sea view, sea view! And the higher the better.

Although this is the best rated hotel in Prince Rupert we arrived a little unsure of what to expect given some earlier comments. We needn't have worried as out of several hotels (not B&B) we stayed in throughout BC, all of which had better overall reviews, this was the best.

We had booked a harbour view room and were pleasantly surprised that we had been given an upgrade to harbour view suite. The suite was very clean and well appointed with everything that you would expect provided for. As has been mentioned before the view over the water is very good and the binoculars they provide enable you to enjoy it even more, a great little touch.

We ate in the hotel both evenings we were there, once in the bar and once in the restaurant, the food was excellent on both occasions as was the service.

All in all nothing to complain about, keep up the good work.
