Water's Edge Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 19 Prince George B&B and Inns
Reviewed November 25, 2010

Myself and my family (spouse and daughter) stayed in Water Edge B&B on March 29, 2010. It is a great experience to stay there. They offer us two bed rooms and one large sitting room. Full suite equipped with TV and Desktop Computer and internet. View of river was great from all portions of the suite and particularly from sitting place. Bed rooms were well decorated and quality of bed were good. Overall it was anice stay. I think it is one of the best scenic location of Prince George.

We were so pleasantly surprised to find that we had a 'downstairs apartment' completely to ourselves; a huge and comfortable lounge area, bedroom and separate bathroom, and a small area where we could make tea/coffee, with a fridge. We were so pleased that we had opted to stay 2 nights (rather than 1, on our trip through the Rockies) with Stuart and Marie who were the most welcoming and friendly hosts, right from the moment we arrived with Stuart serving us tea and biscuits on the lawn overlooking the beautiful Nechako River. The next morning we were presented with gorgeous cakes to try which were made by a neighbour; we were treated like friends rather than paying guests. It was so peaceful there that we both slept incredibly well, and the breakfasts, prepared by Stuart, were superb.
We were not that taken with Prince George, although we did have a lovely long walk along the riverbank (suggested by our hosts) and a lovely meal at Earls (another suggestion by our hosts). Although a little way out of the city, this is definitely THE place to stay.

Stayed at this B&B o'nite, Bed was only a double so didn't sleep terribly well. The lounge area is large with lovely views over the river. Hosts were friendly and helpful with good tips. Breakfast was lovely. If you are driving this is handy to the large shopping areas and not too far from the town centre. Had a wonderful dinner at Earls. Free to use the internet on site.

Our Host were great, besides Pickup Service at the Train station, grocery shopping and waiting for dinner to go they spend time with us and we had a nice talk during dinner on the patio. Even the dog was friendly :-) And we could use him as bear defense during walking through the near forest. Great place close to the river with an excellent view in an quite atmosphere. We really loved the breakfast which they prepare fresh (even early in the morning) for us. I would always stay there again!

Water's Edge was definitely the best B&B we stayed at in Canada, and probably the best we have stayed at either in Canada or the UK. The place was spotless, the rooms very tastefully decorated and the house is in a stunning location with amazing views over the river. They also provided one of the nicest breakfasts we had in Canada. We arrived on the train late in the evening and in the pouring rain. Stuart picked us up from the station, stopping off so we could buy a takeaway and bottle of wine. We sat in the kitchen putting the world to rights with stuart and marie and felt very at home. Marie dropped us at the train station the next morning, again stopping off so we could buy food for the journey, all without extra cost. It's amazing value for money, we would definitely recommend the place to anyone.

Having checked reviews we chose Waters Edge and it was great to be met at the train station by Stuart and driven to our home for the night.
Stuart genuinely enjoys meeting people from all over the world and is so welcoming and hospitable. Only met Marie in the morning as we were leaving.
The room was spotlessly clean ,beds so cosy, and the whole area very spacious and comfortable. The view from the living room out over the river is lovely and we did get to see it even though we were only there from 8pm - 930am.
Stuart cooked a delicious breakfast in the morning and took us back to the station for day 2 of our Skeena Train trip which was fantastic - much better scenery - we thought - than the greatly overpriced Rocky Mountaineer.
Would recommend this B&B to anyone
