I regularily stay at Esthers, mostly because of the secured parking lot. They have security at night, or at least security people who I understand are out at night. They have a fenced large parking lot and for me, that's a big deal. I don't want my vehicle broken into while I'm on a business trip, that would be a huge inconvenience.

The restaurant has good food. There is pool and hot tub which draw families with kids from around the area. It's not a great hotel to stay at if you need to get to sleep before 9pm, as there's lots of loud "pool noise". There is free internet, nice, but tiny tables for your laptop and waiting room chairs instead of office chairs. Plug-ins for your laptop are inconvenient (how about putting them on the lamps like the bigger hotels?) and if you have a CPAP machine like I do, you'll have to grovel around on the carpets and move the bed to plug it in. This is an older hotel with few updates, some repairs, but still kinda old, so crawling around looking for 110 plug in's at the bed isn't fun.

The bathtub has the typical straight back like lots of other hotels, NOT comfortable! The beds are typically pretty decent though and the pillows are good too. The rooms are always clean, but there is the constant chlorine smell throughout the entire hotel from all the water associated with the tropical theme that they have there.

The front desk people are usually quite helpful, but if you want a room close to the front, or can't access a second floor which is by stairs only, make sure that you make that REALLY clear.

They have great lasagna in the restaurant! They used to have a buffet, but I suspect that the Prince George economy has made that a tough go, so it wasn't available in Nov of 2010.

The TV's are terrible, that's all I can say about them. Poor quality, older TV's, no flat screens, no stereo sound, unremarkable remotes that don't always work perfectly, and sometimes seem to have dead or almost dead batteries.

There's not much view from any of the rooms unless you consider the view of the indoor tropical theme to be a view. When it was new, the indoor theme was pretty interesting, but it's about 20 years old now, and "it's getting old". New ownership was noted last year, no bad changes but no updates either.

Overall, compared to large chains on the coast and the island, the pricing is too high for this older hotel. I always ask for "commercial rates" but if they didn't have the secure parking, I'd go somewhere else most times.

We were in Prince George for a family members wedding so they received a special rate for all of the out of town guests. Their are two swimming pools which were nice a warm, like a wonderful bath. They also have two hot tubs that were actually HOT! There are also life jackets available at the front desk for the children which was great. On the down side, the place is old and showing its age. The decore is cheezy at best and the TV in the room was the smallest screen I have ever seen (I have never owned a TV with such a small screen). The shower in our room leaked (the tub kind of leaned so no matter how you adjusted the curtain water came pouring out) and created a pool around the toilet, so we had to use every towel we had to sop it up. The room smelt musty (probably from the leaky tub/shower). The charge you a fee when you use the life jacket, like a deposit against your room and remove the charge when you return it. Although we returned our jackets the girl at the desk did not remove the charge. They did reverse it when I told them we did return them. All in all I will not return there. I much rather stay downtown in the skids at the Ramada then here.

WOW is all I can say. The indoor pool and spa are surrounded by tropical plants. The rooms have a Hawaiian theme and are SUPER clean. The only drawback to this hotel is no elevator. The restaurant and bar are super. The staff very friendly. We would definitely recommend to all friends and family!!!

an oasis in the midst of a depressed, dilapidated town.townsfolk are nice enough and the natural scenery just outside the town of PG is spectacular.this hotel is in a far better location than many of others that are located in the downtown area: which is run down and filled with abandoned stores and questionable looking people.not a place that you'd want to be wondering around after 5 pm.the area of esthers feels safer and there's easy access to the bus station, stores and mostly fast food resturants.inside there are plants everywhere, which gives esthers inn a relaxed good energy.
