Since my last stay here in 2010 the rooms have been completely rebuilt (not simply redecorated). The rooms are on the small side, as before, but the interiors, including the bathrooms have been completely redone in an ultra-modern decor quite unlike what you encounter at other Ramada Hotels, or other chains for that matter. The bathrooms are particularly appealing, with large walk-in shower, back-lit mirror behind the vanity and excellent lighting. I found the rest of the room less appealing, with charcoal grey walls and lack of a place to sit, other than on the bed or at the desk. Climate control was ultra quiet (why can't other hotels use these wall units!) drawing air from outside. Window opens. Lighting was good. There is an enclosed closet. Mattress was very soft.
Restaurant on site; Starbucks located in the lobby. Staff was very accommodating. Business center had just one computer with very slow internet access.
As others have noted, downtown Prince George where the hotel is located has suffered hard times as businesses have moved to the surrounding area. It did appear to me that the area has been "cleaned up" considerably since my last visit. But there is still more to be done on this front.
Thank you for the kind review mountinoutin, we were happy to have you visit us again at the Ramada Prince George. We are quite proud of our newly renovated rooms. We do get quite a number of nice compliments about the bathrooms. We are happy to hear how much you enjoyed the rooms and are sorry to hear you found the room colouring and size disagreeable. Thank you as well for your comments regarding the Business Center computer concerns, that is something that we will definitely look into.
My husband and I booked the Ramanda in Prince George via phone from Edmonton, Alberta not really knowing what to expect. After a long night of traveling we were met by the front desk night audutitor. She was extremely friendly, inviting and accommodating. Once parked and unloaded we went up to our room on the fourth floor. When we walked through the door my husband and I looked at each other in delight. The room was gorgeous! More than we could have asked for at $109/night. The bed was very comfortable and the room was full of everything we could need. The shower was gorgeous, with its rain
The next day upon checkout we decided to stay for breakfast and chose to eat at "coach's corner", the hotels restaurant, for a brunch buffet. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. At $14.95 we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and
then were on our way. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in
Prince George. Should we ever be passing through again, we will most certainly be staying at this Ramada again.
Thank you for the kind review MarjorieG85, we are really happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at the Ramada Prince George. We are quite proud of our newly renovated rooms as well as the staff and food in Coach's Corner.
We look forward to seeing you again on your future travels to Prince George.
I stayed at the Ramada Prince George overnight on the train journey from Jasper to Prince Rupert. Having been to Prince George previously, my expectations regarding this hotel were not high, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Ramada is a very well presented business hotel, with rooms of a very contemporary design. Whilst, there is not much of interest in the surrounding area, the Ramada is ideal for the train stopover and for business people.
This is not a luxury hotel, but the Ramada certainly provides clean, comfortable and good value accommodation in Prince George.
Thank your for the review Mark S. We are happy to hear of your kind words and look forward to seeing you again at the Ramada Prince George, should your travels take you back this way again.
I just returned from 4 lovely nights here and can say for certain this hotel delivers the luxury it has branded itself with. My standard king room was everything you could ask for with high end linens on the supremely comfortable bed and a rain head shower in the well appointed bathroom that was to die for. The staff are friendly and professional and the hotel itself is spotless and incredibly quiet considering it was full to capacity. The Starbucks in the lobby is hotel run and it shows! Don't miss out on some of the excellent restaurants very close by as well; downtown Prince George has a lot to offer. Business or pleasure, I would highly recommend you stay here. You won't be sorry you did.
Thank you for the kind review BCtravel2014. We are really happy with the renovated rooms, and are happy to hear of your enjoyment of them. We are quite proud of the professionalism of our staff, and we will pass on your kind words to them. We look forward to seeing you again at the Ramada Prince George.
Downtown Prince George has been going through difficult, or at best uneven, times for the past few decades. The Ramada remains one of its anchors, along with a series of relatively new public buildings in the core area. The Ramada has some real pluses: excellent and helpful staff, well-appointed rooms, and great service. It is overpriced relative to other business-type hotels, but that is really part of the northern premium. One hopes that the downtown picks up in the near future and that the Ramada enjoys future success.
Thank you for the review WhitehorseVancouver. We are happy to hear the nice things you have to say about the Ramada Prince George. We the new Wood Innovation Centre being built across the street from us, Downtown Prince George is starting to pick up.
We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Prince George.
