“Old Travel Lodge ok Downtown Prince George something else”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

Arrived at the Travel Lodge June 29th the front desk Lady was very pleasant, the first thing I noticed was that the motel is so old my SUV which is a medium size 2000 would not fit under the parking garage, which was a problem because Prince George which is the number one unsafe city in Canada, there where transients and prostitutes all over the downtown area, I sat and watched from the room as in broad daylight automobiles where being staked out not just at the travel lodge but also the other motels on the same block, unbeleivable I could not risk leaving my vehicle on the street or parked outside and found a motel at a safer location. This motel is a victom of the crime and lack of control in the City of Prince George what a shame.

Ironically the Dairy Queen across the street from the other motel got robbed that night got to watch the whole thing, Prince George needs help.

Room Tip: Almost all of the motels in Prince George are downtown find another City.

A short walk from the Via Rail station, the Travelodge proved a good find. Modern room and bathroom, big flat screen TV and comfy chairs. King-sized bed provided a restful sleep.
Good self-serve breakfast - cereal, bagels, toast, muffins, yoghurt. Excellent value for money.

I stayed at here for a unplanned visit last year and was very pleased with everything about my stay. The front desk staff was very welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable, even providing me with tooth paste because I forgot mine. The room was newly renovated, spotlessly clean and equipped with a flat-screen TV. The very best part of the stay was the included breakfast. The breakfast spread included; assorted bagels, cream cheese, toast, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea.

I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who was looking for budget accommodation.

Room Tip: Rooms adjacent to the alley way are quiet and thus you avoid street noise....

We have stayed here often over the years, before it became Travelodge & was known only as the Goldcap. Staff on desk very friendly & helpful. Free parking and lots of security cameras in parking area. Never had any problem. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable, we find it pretty quiet both inside & from outside while in our room. They have been doing upgrades over last couple years which is nice. Rooms are more spacious than a lot of newer hotels are nowadays. Price is very good & is within walking distance to a number of downtown restaurants. They also have restaurant attached but have not tried it since it changed hands. A complimentary breakfast is included & is held on 2nd floor. Lots of space, tables & a decent continental breakfast.
