My husband and I found this place because of a bike ride a friend of ours told us was amazing. We rode our bikes way up (9km) Carmi till it ended at this funky spot. The restaurant is opens at 11:30 (we were very dissapointed we could not get a coffee after such a ride), and is open for lunch and dinner. So we made a reservation for that evening with the family.
The views are staggering, the building has been built out of reclaimed wood from a fire and is surrounded by glass doors. There is a fabulous viewing deck where you can also eat if the winds allow. This is a BBQ restaurant and not the best choice for a vedgetarian, but they had an awesome veggie burger and a couple of salads. We were 8 for dinner with our adult kids and our 3 year old granddaughter. They had a kids menu so that was nice for our group. Kids had steak, halibit, burgers and said it was well prepared and delicious. Most of us had the soup of the day - homemade tomato gin - delicous. Hot buns came out of the oven (a little late, but non the less tasty). The service is an attempt, but clearly the our server of the evening did not have much experience. We were happy to pour our own wine, remind him when we required another bottle and hand him our plates when he didn't notice we were done.
We were all there for the view and the experience, not white glove service. All in all well worth the trip up the hill. the total bill for 8 & the toddler was $370 including 3 bottles of wine and 3 desserts split between us. They were kind enough to give us some of their homemade fresh donuts on the house!
