Munson Mountain is an excellent place to take in the spectacular 360 degree views of Penticton.

It is located up Vancouver Hill on the East side of Penticton on the way to Naramata. This is where the very large PENTICTON sign is located, and at the base there is a small, paved parking lot.

From the parking lot, there are several trails to choose from. Mountain bikers may like to try their skills and daring on the dirt trails that snake up several sides, or for those that like to take it easy, you can just stroll along the paved, walkway towards the gazebo. Once you arrive to the gazebo, you can take in the view of Skaha Lake in the distance, straight ahead and Okanagan Lake to the right.

For those wanting a bit more of a hike, there is a main gravel trail that leads to the very top - above the PENTICTON sign. This last bit is definitely well-worth the effort and you’ll be rewarded with the most fabulous “view from the top” – a breath-taking panorama of water, forest, vineyard, & mountain vistas, showcasing the best Penticton has to offer!

access is tucked behind mountain on the way to Naramata. Parking is small, but a short walk and you can not only see the whole valley, you can also sit and take it all in. Beware of afternoon heat exposure. Best go early in the day or after dinner. Families will enjoy pointing out all the interesting Okanagan Lake and shore sites.

The views are breathtaking as you look North down Okanagan Lake to Naramata's vineyards & Peachland in the distance, West to Summerland's orchards and South to all of Penticton down to OK Falls and the rippling waters of Skaha Lake, Westward lies the KVR trail. There are a few bumps along the path so it is wise to keep vigilant. Just another reason why we are so thrilled to live here!!

We came across this gem while taking a break from wine touring in the Naramata Bench area. We were amazed that a short uphill walk yielded such amazing views of the area, including vineyards and both Skaha and Okanagan lakes framing Penticton. Although benches and a gazebo and picnic table were available, no toilets were seen (so plan accordingly). This is a wonderful place to reflect and admire the beauty surrounding Penticton. At least one trail is wheelchair accessible.
