Owner description: We are located on the beautiful Naramata Bench in the heart of the Okanangan Valley. At LA FRENZ, we believe the quality in the bottle begins in the vineyard. Cutting edge and meticulous vineyard practices are used in combination with varieties tailored to the unique soils and micro climates of our vineyard sites to produce the vibrant and intense grape characters found only in the Okanagan Valley. The potential of the resulting fruit, using experience and careful stewardship throughout the vinification process, is maintained and enhanced to create exceptional wines that truly reflect the grape variety and vineyard site. We welcome you to our unique wine shop overlooking Lake Okanagan. This spectacular view was featured on the $100 banknote from 1954 to 1975. From April through October, we are open daily, 10am to 5pm for tastings and purchases. Join us on our patio for a seated tasting experience or sample at the tasting bar. Seating is limited so reservations are encouraged. We do require advance reservations for groups of 8 or more.

“Slightly snooty service, nice wines, nice view.”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

We're a couple, visiting on a winery roadtrip. $5 for tastings, refundable with a bottle purchase (entirely fair). Winery itself had a nice view of the lake, and a patio to boot -- you could order a tasting flight and enjoy the view on the patio, but there weren't any food / snack options to pair with.

We detected a whiff of attitude from the hosts, slightly impersonable service for our taste. Perhaps it was too busy for them to juggle 3-4 tastings at a time, and we certainly don't wish everybody to hold this against them. Only writing on what we experienced and felt in all honesty.

The wines themselves merit the awards, from our (beginner) tastes. The Montage (red blend) was particularly smooth, but all of their tasting wines had won awards of some sort.

It was a good stop, which is to say average for the area. If you have one of their wines on your to-do list, or heard the awards, give it a try. If you happen to skip it along your wine route, you weren't missing a ton.

We stopped here when in Penticton for a show - the staff were super friendly and helpful - ended up going home with 4 bottles of great award winning wines.

“Always worth a visit”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

Good wine, but a fairly impersonal tasting experience. I like the Montage and the Tawny. The Semillion is the best white imo

“Simply the best of the Naramata Bench”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

The finest wines available here. Always award winning. They start to sell out of their wines by August, so it can be worth ordering a case from them in the spring or get up to Naramata before August.
