Husband and I met another couple for lunch. Hubby was the only one that had never been before.
Menu is a little confusing and with 3 different kinds of cusine one needs to watch what they order.
3 of us ordered the same box lunch and hubby ordered just one dish.

We waited over a hour for our meal, waitress seemed confused although she had waited on some of us before.when we finally did get our meal it was cold!
Only 2 other tables had people at them, so it was Not busy.
Food was just medioker, Nothing special and a real disapointment since it was cold.
We had ordered Chicken and all 3 of us recieved pork. Wedid not want to wait another hour so just ate it.

It is very unlikly we will go back which is a shame but they need to get there act together as they have done a wonderful job renoventing the place

Hmmm. We were very hungry when we stumbled into Jimmy's Kitchen after our 4.5 hour drive up from Vancouver. We probably should have kept walking. Looks like this in a newly remodelled venue and, to be fair, the decor is very nice. The food, however, needs a lot of work. They offer 3 different cuisines - Thai, Chinese and Japanese. We decided to go with Thai on this cold October evening. Big mistake! The Pad Thai with "tiger prawns" was basically flat, tasteless noodles with overcooked and flavourless prawns and lots of extra tofu (not a usual ingredient in Pad Thai!) No peanuts or bean sprouts or tasty veggies - just a brown sauce and a lot of starch. The red curry was almost as bad. It was supposed to have chicken in it - but again, the ubiquitous tofu was plentiful - if flavourless. They have one red and one white house wine from which to choose. Both were dreadful! (I thought this was wine country?) The waitress was unprofessional and inattentive. I was amused to hear her scold the bus boy for not pushing the chairs in under the tables after he had cleaned them - she didn't offer my husband a second glass of wine and didn't bother to take away our empty plates to make room for the entree that she brought to the table. They have music blaring in one section of the restaurant (for the cooks, perhaps?), while the main dining area has nothing. There are managers milling about trying to look useful but nobody is really doing anything. Someone needs to teach the chef how to make Thai food. The food isn't expensive. . . but you get what you pay for. I predict this place will close within a year.

Jimmy's had a grand opening event to show off their flare, and in my opinion, failed to impress. After waiting 15 minutes for a menu, another 1.5 hours for food to arrive we were less them impressed. The salad rolls came with no sauce, we asked for the sauce, but it never came. One of the dishes ordered never came, we decided to skip it and just deducted from the bill when paying. The food tasted great, but terrible portion sizes. i won't be returning.

I was looking forward to trying Jimmy's Kitchen but unfortunately it fell below expectations.

The staff were friendly and attentive - clearly trying very hard to provide good service as we were asked what we wanted to drink by 3 different people within the first 2 minutes of being seated. Overall though, the servers seem quite inexperienced.

The decor is modern and sleek, although the restaurant lacked atmosphere...perhaps because it was nearly empty and so quiet you could hear a pin drop. A bit of background music would have been nice so it wasn't so silent.

As for the food, we liked the presentation but were disappointed with the flavour. We ordered a few sushi rolls, the beef lettuce wraps, and pad thai with prawns and chicken. The sushi rolls were fresh and well made, but the taste was pretty average. They were drizzled with mayonnaise on top which I don't particularly like. The lettuce wraps were also just "ok". The pad thai was disappointing, as it was served in a bowl swimming in grease and the taste was quite bland. The noodles seemed fresh but the dish was definitely lacking in flavour and overly greasy.

Overall, it wasn't bad but we weren't impressed and won't be returning anytime soon.

I have been to Jimmy's three times in the last month and half. That should indicate what I think of the newly re-vamped place. Prior to the changes, this place was a tired and dirty chinese buffet style rest with poor food and terrible atmosphere. Now...fresh sushi, many bentos, noodles and rice bowls...great miso and some of the best hot and sour soup I ever had. And the room...great stonewear dishes, lighting, and the furniture is top class. Highly recommend. Only drawback is the servers are not quite up to the level of the venue. I see a help wanted sign so hopefully 'Jimmy' can find good candidates.
