“very good stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2010

We stayed here for one night when we were traveling for work. We arrived after dinner and the two women at the check in were very kind and helpful. They had put us in two ground floor rooms in the back, and given that we were two women traveling alone, we requested rooms that were off the room. They were quick to accommodate us. We had a glass of wine at the bar in the adjoining restaurant which was very lovely. The room was very clean and basic. Breakfast was included as well, they had bagels, boiled eggs, the usual. It was overall, a good stay.

We are a retired couple who travel with two small dogs and have encountered some of the most flea ridden (literally), beat up, filthy rooms that are called pet friendly. Since we bathe our dogs and flea treat regularly, we don't expect to pay money for anything except a clean, pest free, nice room. We had a lovely room at the Days Inn. Couldn't have been more pleased. The dogs did no sniffing around which they will do in a motel room that hasn't been cleaned properly. The furniture had not been abused, nor had the carpets.
We thank past patrons who travel with pets for understanding it is a privilege to be able to have pet friendly lodging. We thank Days Inn for trusting us with a nice room where we could have our two dogs.
Our ONLY suggestion (and it's a suggestion, not a complaint) is that Days Inn might consider putting in one grassy patch that visiting dogs could use on the side of the building where the pet friendly rooms are. Add a trash bin and a container of doggie bags for those guests with pets. The weather was fine while we were there but in cold, rainy, or snowy weather to be asked to leave the premises, cross the main road and use the park across the street, really could be a nightmare for the first trip out in the a.m. A dog friendly small patch of grass on the side of the motel could make it easier to take dogs out and further reduce the risk of accidents in the room while a human guest is getting fully dressed and prepared to cross roads and walk a park.
Other than that suggestion, we couldn't be more pleased.

This was the third time we stayed at the Days Inn over the past three years. We had originally booked at the Ramada as the days was full when we called. Too make a long story short we walked over to the Days Inn five minutes after checking into the RAmada (see Ramada review) and managed to book a room for the remainder of our holiday. I cannot say enough about the staff at the Days Inn. From Helen at reception to George the manager, they were so friendly and helpful it just made our vacation wonderful. Close to beach, walking distance to Tim Hortons and new grocery store and strip mall makes it a perfect location.

Overpriced compared to similar accommodation close by. I ended up staying here because I could not get into the Ramada because of short notice. Paid more, got less. Won't make this mistake again.

For a family with small childeren this is one of the best places you can stay. Awesome courtyard setup let us relax without worrying that our son was playing in the street. Room was huge (230) with a great private balcony. Very clean and modern. Location was very conveinent right close to beach, main roads, Timmys and lots of resturants. Breakfast was typical but nice for the kids with a huge eating area. Outdoor pool and splash park were excellent and the housekeeping here is fantastic. We were very impressed and would rate this hotel in the top 5 in Penticton. We would definately stay here again.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2009

I stayed for 2 nights in Feb 09, at best this hotel is OK.
The bad part:
My bathroom toilet had fecal residues..which grossed me out...
At 10pm, I was asked by front desk to tone down as my wife was giggling loudly, which I found was ridiculous...
There is $25 "incidentals fee" kinda like a damage deposit..which was unnecessary..as I had already paid for my rooms in full for the 2 nights...
Video surveillance in the Jacuzzi room..which destroyed all privacy...
Staff not very friendly..kinda in a grumpy mood always...
Breakfast..pretty shoddy...fruits were smelling...beware of the cinnamon bun..i fell sick after eating it...orange juice had more water in it than juice content...overall not good.
Heating/Cooling system in the rooms pretty weird...either makes the room too hot or too cold...
The good part:
Good mountain view from the rooms...
The room (not including the bathroom) was clean
Heated pool was nice though not very private...
Common eating room where the microwave can be used for personal cooking..
Not very noisy...calm and serene surroundings...
Free internet...

I recently stayed at Days Inn in Penticton for the night of New Years Eve. Upon arrival Bonnie and Helen were very nice at check in and took a very personal interest in my friend and I. Upon heading out for the evening my only dress I had to wear for a concert we were attending ripped. Helen took it upon herself to sew up the dress telling customers she had a lady in distress that needed her dress asap. When leaving the hotel it was noticed Helen treated all the guests at the hotel as though they were royalty. The next morning my friend and I needed assistance in getting a phone number as we had lost an item the previous night. Helen again took it upon herself to call the location and do some searching of her own for our lost items.

Helen certainly went above the call of duty and there is no doubt in my mind that she does so each and every single day.

As far as the hotel goes the rooms were clean and stocked and the pool area was as well. I would certainly return to the Days Inn in Penticton for my next stay.

Rhonda.
