Not only did we get a room located right next to the utility room so all you heard was the constant humming through yhe walls all night the bathtub bottom was old and peeling off. I found a hair (not mine) as soon as I pulled ghe blankets back from the bed. The whole room was on a slant so it felt like you were waking and sleeping on an angle. The room was cold and when I turned on the heat a LOT OF DUST etc. Blew from the heater all night causing my asthma to act up which it hasent in 5 yrs. The hotel was empty so im not sure why they gave us such a crappy room
Terrible worste hotel room experience ever! The staff was nice though.

Dear Guest,

It's our mission to have you leave us, feeling as though you've had the BEST stay ever....rather than the worst stay ever, so it's safe to say we've VERY dissapointed to read your review.

The hotel is not a new property. Although well maintained the building is over 40 years old & was built on a land mass, within a block & a half of the lake & beach. The land has shifted somewhat over the years & the building has experienced a certain amount of settling, that has created a very SLIGHT lean in certain sections of the hotel.

As I don't know your name, I cannot confirm why you were placed in a room it seems was not used in some time. I can only assume other areas of the hotel were full during your stay, or we had closed inventory due to spring cleaning. With that being said, unless you were a last minute reservation, we always start AC/Heating units up prior to a guests arrival, which does allow the room to heat up & any dust particles that may have accumulated on the hidden heaing coil, to burn off.

We apologize that you discovered a hair when you pulled back the sheets on your bed & wish to assure you, the sheets would have been clean & fresh out of the laundry, which is where many sheets pick up hairs - during the washing & drying cycle. It's unfortunate...but it does happen. We rely a great deal on our team of housekeeping professionals to notice these details when making beds. Unfortunately, sometimes they get missed.... which is not an excuse, but it happens. Whoever made your room up, missed the hair clinging to your sheets....and we agree with you, it's a bit of a turn off.

Our entire team values both our guests & the overall experience they have during their stay with us. That your experience was anything less than wonderful, dissapoints us, as much as it dissapoints you. Should you travels bring you to Penticton in the future, we would greatly appreciate a second opportunity to earn your business & trust we'll do a better job the next time around.

Warm regards,

Christa Park

The hotel was very accommodating when planning for a large group. They set us up with a team account and were easy to reach. We also arranged for a team dinner that we had the hotel cater. The catering experience was great. We had to make some last minute changes and have the meal come early, add some bodies and get into the space sooner. The catering staff was excellent as was the food!
In terms of the hotel itself, our room was clean, quiet and problem free. We did get a call from the desk indicating that some tiles were missing from the pool area and suggested we talk to our team about this. Strange request we thought - how would they get tiles off the wall?
The breakfast is bare bones, cereal and assorted bread type items but suited us fine.
This is our second stay at this property and we would stay again!

Room Tip: If possible, ask for a room that is on the court yard

We stayed in room 101 which had a connecting door to the next door room. Unfortunately the folk in the next door room had their TV on and it might as well have been in our room, it kept us awake 'till the wee hours.

When I mentioned it to reception in the morning, they said 'yes, it unfortunate that the TVs are right by the connecting door'.

We won't stay there again.

Dear Colin,

We appreciate your most recent stay with us.
Room 101 is not only an adjoining room, but a PET FRIENDLY room as well, so I'm uncertain if you were placed in that room due to pet requirements.

As you have noted, due to the fact it's simply a doorway seperating 2 guest rooms rather than an insulated wall, noise can and often does transfer. It's unfortunate & we truly apologize for the restless night you experienced. Noise transer is a very common occurance in many hotels with adjoining rooms.

In the future, should you find yourself in the same situation - in any hotel, please don't hesitate to contact the Front Desk...even in the middle of the night. Although not neccessarily convenient, we would rather move you to a room you'd find more comfortable, than have you endure a sleepless night. Had you stayed in a room without the adjoining feature, I'm certain you would have been more than comfortable with us.

We apologize that your stay was anything less than fabulous Colin, and hope you'll allow us another opportunity to earn your business in the future.

Warm regards,

Christa Park
