“Nice location”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

This hotel has a stunning location on the lake, but was surprisingly average inside with quite a dated decor. We also found it quite noisy and when we called the front desk they said there was nothing they could do.

Stayed here for business, mid week. The hotel is slightly outdated( brass fixtures, old style desk etc). Room heater was noisy, lakeside room was a little loud, with people walking to and from the restaurant The corridors were also very very cold!! Turndown service provided cookies, apples, water and the next days weather forecast, which was a nice touch. Bed was comfortable. Hair dryer very poor quality. Generally, not bad, but not great either.

GREAT STAFF! our shower head was like a pressure washer so we asked the front desk to see if they can adjusts it. They replaced it while we were out and about! Very prompt and more than we asked for!

Rooms nice but the bed linens are not comfortable - the typical motel linens of sheet, with that furry/fleecy middle blanket topped with a thin decorative blanket - I prefer one down-like comforter with a white cover so I know it's clean plus it slips around less and stays on all night. (my preference may not be a big deal for everyone).

The restaurants in house are yummy.

Very lovely location on the waterfront.

Only downside is the restaurants, casino and bar in-house make it for a noisy night which disrupts sleep! The rooms that aren't on the water side are all around the parking lot so when all the partiers from the casino etc leave and wait for cabs it gets noisy. We did not stay waterside so it may be quieter there but that is the side of the bar patio/smoke area so I don't know if it would be any quieter.

Room Tip: only choose waterside - non waterfront is too noisy!

I checked into the Lakeside Resort in Penticton and there was some complications from a 3rd part who booked my room. Denise at the front desk went out of her way to find me a room, especially when the hotel was heavily booked that night. I really appreciate her great customer service!

Was there for a Pool Tournament mid February 2013. Room was large but slightly dated. Had to request additional towels and coffee as we had 4 in the room. Heater Unit noisy.Reservation was recorded incorrectly but corrected at no charge. Have to watch to make sure of the dates you require. If its a busy week-end you should reserve at on site restaurants as we had no where to eat on the night we arrived. Sufficed with room service. Feel the reservation staff should make clients aware of restaurant limitations.

Room Tip: Best view would be lakeside.

My fiance and I just spent the last three nights at Penticton Lakeside Resort and really enjoyed our stay. We flew in from Calgary and arrived at the hotel around 11am. The person at the front desk was able to find us a room so that we could check-in early and not have to wait until 3pm. I really appreciated that since we were on our way out to meet my relatives and just wanted to get checked in so we could enjoy the rest of the day without interruption. We ended up with a room with a view of the lake which was nothing short of spectacular. The room itself was large with a balcony (a little too cold to sit on in February!), a king-size bed, a loveseat, coffee table, chair, two night stands, a desk, a bar fridge and a dresser. The TV was flat screen and had a variety of channels. The bathroom was also large and the whole room was extremely clean. Robes were provided as well as a coffee pot and some coffee (not great). So room wise, we were very pleased. The only down-side, which could not be controlled by the hotel, is that the doors to the rooms automatically shut very quickly and loudly. So if a person is not careful to close it slowly, it slams shut with a loud bang. Unfortunately we had people on our floor who were not considerate enough to think about those around them and let doors slam well into the night. That was only one night and speaks to the people that were staying there, not the hotel.

The Casino is quite large, had lots of slot machines, a bar area with some to-go food and drinks and a couple of blackjack tables. I did pretty well there, but my fiancé did not. Just the luck of the draw! I had a great time.

As for restaurants, we dined at the Bufflehead and had the lobster fest which was on that weekend. Yum!! A lobster dinner and a beer for $25! It was great, but is not offered on the regular menu. However, my Mom had a meal from the senior’s menu which she really enjoyed. For $10 she could get a salad and pasta dish, which they had 8 or 10 to choose from. We went to the Hooded Merganser for drinks only so I cannot comment on the food, but wow, the view was fantastic. It is a separate building apart from the hotel on the edge of the water. It was lovely and relaxing.

Parking is $5 a day and they give you a pass and add it to your bill.

There is a pool but we did not go so I cannot comment.

Check-out was a breeze and the person at the front desk was friendly and helpful.

I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view of the lake. It is lovely.

My wife and I spent four days in this hotel. Our room's view of the lake was outstanding The room was very clean and very comfortable. The only suggestion I would have is that there should be a grab bar in the bath/shower to assist seniors or disable persons. The hotel has a green program which they provide a $10 credit to be used in the hotel for each day you do not use maid service.
We had an opportunity to eat in the hotel's three restaurants. We found the food and service outstanding in all three restaurants.
Our activities did not allow us to hit the Casino, so we will save that for our next visit.
We lucked out with the weather, it was very cold but sunny and made our trip that much more enjoyable. There is covered parking so snow in the winter is not a problem for your parked car.
I would suggest booking a lake view room as opposed to the city view rooms.
I certainly recommend a stay at this hotel.
