“Great Value Motel”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

The Valley Star Motel has good, clean & affordable rooms. Though it is an older Motel, there have been upgrades made and it is very clean. We booked because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor & couldn't agree more. It's location was only 2 blocks from Skaha Lake but quite far away from the Okanagan Lake. We found there was more site seeing to do closer to the Okanagan Lake & downtown. However, we had a rental car and Penticton is very easy to get around in. The room was equipped with a small kitchenette & BBQ's outside which was perfect for us. The Owner was very friendly and generously upgraded without asking to a king size room. We would definately recommend this Motel.

We were two couples traveling together to enjoy wine tasting in the Okananagan. We tried the Valley Star Motel because of the great ratings on Trip Advisor. It can be difficult to find a great value, that is also clean, convenient and offers a King size bed! The room we rented had a kitchenette, assigned parking right outside the door, a small covered patio adjacent to our friends room, and was close to the lake. They even offer several nice bar-b-que areas if you wish to eat in. There was A/C in the room, and the bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The only thing missing for us was a hairdryer, but was probably available to borrow at the front desk.

Room Tip: Calling the motel to speak with the owner is advised. She can assist you in the right choice of room...

met my brothers family and stayed for 4 nights. Our stay was very enjoyable. The owners are very nice and accomadating. We stayed in one of their bigger rooms for 2 nights, which I recommend for a family. 2 blocks from Skaha Lake, which was very convenient for swimming - resort pool was small but nice and never crowded. The green space/ bbq area was a great place to congregate. The bbq was cleaned daily. My brother has stayed here numerous times, but this was our first - not our last. I highly recommend 'The Valley Star' and hope to return for next years vacation.

Room Tip: I prefer the bigger rooms - definately worth it for a family.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly owner. We felt very welcomed and she was very informative. Super clean room, no funny smells, beautiful flowers, lovely gazebo and patio tables on the lawn. BBQ's available and our kitchenette room was well stocked. The pool is lovely with lots of seating and lounge chairs with side tables. So nice and close to Skaha lake and perfect location for shopping, restaurants, etc. We will definately be staying here again!

Our family was lucky enough to get a room at the Valley Star during the very busy BC Day long weekend. The motel is located at the south end of Penticton, just a 5 minute walk from Skaha Lake. Our suite was very clean with a comfortable queen bed, kitchenette and our very own little patio. There is also the convenience of shared BBQs and a salt water pool surrounded by a seating area complete with umbrellas, tables and lounge chairs. The owners, Bimla & Ravin are extremely courteous and take pride in the family atmosphere of their motel. We felt welcomed from the first moment we arrived. Thank you.

I have stayed at the Valley Star Motel for eleven (11) years and go up every summer and I call it my "little paradise". From the moment you arrive you feel welcomed!
The barbeques are kept clean, the pool is clean and refreshing and enough chase lounges for everyone. After a great day at the pool or lake (which is a 5 minute walk) you can barbeque your favorite meal and sit under the gazebo and enjoy!....or sit on your own private balcony. Why would you want to stay any place else when there is nothing that can match the experience and fun that you will have staying at the Valley Star. I recommend it highly!! You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are equal.

My husband and myself and our dog stayed at the Valley Star motel for a couple of nights near the end of May 2012. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and fresh and the bed was great. There were BBQ's and there is a pool area but this was not open yet as it was too early in the season. We did use the BBQ though. What we enjoyed the most was the little balcony we had outside our room to sit out on in the evening, also Skaha lake beach was just a very short 5-10 minute walk away and there is really nice pub just over the road. Its quiet at this south end of Penticton and very peaceful and relaxing and the price was right.

Room Tip: I am sure all of the rooms are very nice but if you need a kitchen or have a family then tell them t...
