“Small room but great deck!”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

I stayed in the Hideaway Room at the Casa Grande while in Penticton for my son's hockey try-outs. Overall, it was a good experience. The deck off of this room may be the best in all of Penticton for sun and people watching. I found the accommodations to have the capacity to be absolutely outstanding with a little more care and updating. For instance, the batteries were worn out in the air freshener, the towels were tattered on the edges (but clean) and the sheets were worn (but clean also). The location and layout of this building is exceptional, with a wide variety of rooms and lake views. The hostess, a very nice lady who appeared to have some health issues, seems to have her hands full, and perhaps should take on some help to bring this place up to its potential.

Room Tip: The Hideaway is small, but the most private.

My husband and I stayed ther for two nights. It was a lovely room that had a big jetted soaker tub and rainforest shower which we both loved!! The small balcony off the room was nice and private. The room was comfortable but the location was at the front entrance and also beside the kitchen so we heard the other guests coming and going so sleep was broken up! The best part of the stay was our hostess Alize! She was just wonderful. She had a great contiental breakfast ready for us each morning. She was also very helpful in suggesting things to do and see during our stay. One thing we really enjoyed was the farmers market down mainstreet on Saturday mornings. The place felt like home and we would definatley stay there again.

My husband and I took a fall trip to check out the Canadian wine country around Osoyoos and just stumbled into Casa Grande, (no pun intended). We loved our stay there. Great location. Especially enjoyed relaxing on the patio in the evening. Would love to return in the summer.

The building itself is a beautifully crafted open design. Built with pride by the owner/developer whom I had the pleasure to meet. Each room is roomy and unique. My wife and I stayed in the jacuzzi room. It was spacious with a queen bed that has memory foam on it making for a good nights sleep. The bathroom is gorgeously detailed with a jacuzzi tub big enough for two and surrounded in tile and slate. Off the side of the room is a cozy patio big enough for two to have coffee or a couple of night caps.

You cannot beat the location. It is right across the road from the north beach of okanagan lake and right across from the SS Sicamous. The views from here are awesome. You can walk right along Lakeshore drive to many eateries, downtown or the casino.

The hospitality is better than expected from a bed and breakfast. All the rooms were spotlessly cleaned. Breakfast was prepared ready for us when we awoke. It is supposed to be a continental breakfast but we were offered so many choices it was more like a continental buffet! We did not have the pleasure of meeting the caretaker (Elsie) she was away but we had the hospitality of her daughter (Stacey). She was friendly always ready for company or offering advice on places to go, stuff to do or places to eat.

My wife and I would visit the Casa Grande anytime we have some time off together from work and just needed a place to get away and unwind together.

Five sisters stayed for 2 nights and found the experience great. The bedrooms & private bathrooms were large and very clean. When requested, they even got up early to prep our breakfast! Really appreciated. Note that there is a flight of stairs leading to the rooms - perhaps not ideal for seniors or people with mobility problems. Otherwise, great host, great rooms, great location. What more could you want?

We stayed at this B&B for two nights on Labour Day long weekend. It was clean, very quiet, and we really enjoyed the company of the hostess during breakfast. We stayed in the "Hideaway" room, which is detached from the rest of the B&B. The balcony is almost complete so next time we'll be able to make use of that to really enjoy the view.

Our hostess gave us a tour of the rest of the house and all of the rooms look fantastic. The common area for breakfast or just lounging is very comfortable and the floor to ceiling windows have excellent views of the lake and the beach. We could even park for free in the driveway and walk to all the sights. Perfect location!!

Thanks for making our first visit to Penticton wonderful. See you again!!
