We had a suite on the courtyard. Beds were very comfy, air conditioners were extremely efficient and muffled most of the courtyard noise. Already booked for a longer stay next year and hope a different room will be as great as the one we had this time. Can't wait to return!!

Just stayed for 4 nights with my 2 teenage sons and extended family. Our rooms were all together, so we could sit and visit on the balcony. Room was clean and the location is the best. Around the corner from the beach, mini golf, ice cream, canal float. The pool and hot tub are great. Used the BBQ and picnic tables every night for supper. Kitchen's supplies are very few, so bring what you need from home. We had exactly 4 spoons, 3 drinking glasses, 4 plates, 4 bowls. No soup ladel or big cutting knives. Coffee filters, but no coffee. Since I had my boys along, the room was pretty messy, so housekeeping was minimal. They wouldn't make the beds if there were any clothes on them, which was pretty much every day. Motel has had some upgrades, but is on the older side.

After reading all the positive reviews, we chose to stay at the Bowmont on our most recent trip to Penticton. I’ve spent alot time and stayed alot of places in Penticton...and I must say that the Bowmont Motel is a great place to stay! From the moment you arrive, Dan & Christine and the rest of the family do such a great job. You can tell they really care about the motel and their guests – from the moment we arrived Christine made us feel so welcome and gave us personal attention and assistance you rarely find at one of the corporate chains.
The room was clean. The bathroom had been recently renovated. We had a room with a balcony which overlooked the pool and courtyard which was really nice.

Perfect location – right across the street from Coyote Cruises, Loco Landing, the skate park, etc. and just a block away from the beach.

I can’t say enough good things about the Bowmont. It’s fitting that they have the retro theme and pictures on the website, because the Bowmont is truly a throwback to the genuine, good old fashioned days of the family run motel!
Will definitely be staying at the Bowmont again next month!

It was Wed. July 11th,just finished a road trip to Alberta with my Auntie from San Diego, was on the road for 6 days and sick of being in the car. My girlfriend and I decided to meet somewhere up in the Okanagan, Penticton was the location. Janet had booked a motel on Skaha Lake but when we went to check in, no pool!. I had stayed at the Bowmont Motel at the end of June for the Car Show they have every year!..needless to say, I loved it. The weather was not great so we couldn't enjoy the courtyard and pool at the Bowmont. Far the best pool/courtyard area in all of Penticton!. Well, our visit couldn't have been any better, our room #226, had a seperate bedroom with 2 twin beds and the livingroom had a queen bed and a sofa with a nice size tv. The kitchen was in the back of the suite and accomodated our groceries and fine Okanagan wine. There are BBQ's that you can use but we didn't take advantage of them this time. The owners and their kids are friendly and attentive. They make you feel as though they have known you for many years, as they do know many families as they have been going back to the Bowmont year after year. I can see why!.The motel is very clean and the location is fabulous. It is just around the corner from Lakeshore Drive, which is the strip alongside the lake. It is across the street from channel, which everyone love to tube down and the adventure play park is also across the street. You can walk to the store to pick up a few nicknacks and even an ice-cream cone! A short walk along Lakeshore is the Casino. No luck for us but something to do to get out of the 37 degree heat at 7pm. Our stay at the Bowmont Motel was yet another fabulous memory of meeting new people, even from our own neighbourhood. Friends that we will meet again at the Bowmont next year. There are many sizes of rooms to accomodate everyone. We will definately be going back soon!..A must to enjoy while in Penticton B.C. Enjoy!

Room Tip: looking over the pool was my favourite, all different sizes to accomodate everyone. Great air condit...

I just came back from vacation in the Peach City, what made it memoriable for our family was our time spent at the Bowmont. I can't say enough about the wonderful owners Dan and Christine. The pool and Courtyard really made our vacation. Located a 1/2 block from Okanagan lake, it was so convenient. We look forward to coming back next year.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We would echo a number of comments made by other reviewers. The owners are super friendly and helpful and they along with their staff work really hard to make your stay enjoyable and fun. They are also forthright in telling you what things you ought to bring with you to make your stay enjoyable. They even held a kids' wiener roast during our stay.

We would also point out though that because the owners and staff are so busy, there may be the odd time that they don't address something right away, but they eventually do follow-up.

We would agree that the rooms are a bit dated and that some of the furnishings are showing their age, but the rooms are generally well kept and clean. However, the overall facilities (from the pool to the laundry room) are well kept and kept clean and trim.

With lots of young families staying during our stay, things could get a little "kid" noisy during the day and into the evening, but generally most guests were good natured and well behaved.

It's also a great location - a couple minutes on foot from many great places to see (i.e. Okanagan Lake, restaurants, channel tube ride, Loco Landing Amusement Park).

It's somewhere we'll seriously consider staying at again when we come back to Penticton.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard and pool are the most popular for young families and if you want to be in...

We stayed at the Bowmont Motel from June 24 to 28, 2012 and it was fabulous! From the moment we arrived we felt extremely welcomed and comfortable. The owners are incredible! And they pick great staff who do a tremendous job at keeping the place clean.

Our room was on the main level and opened up to the court yard and pool, I highly recommend asking for this set up when you stay, especially if you have young children. My three year old had a great time running around the court yard and playing on the toddler equipment they have. We spent almost every day by the pool - which is another perk about this place. Perfect temperature, extremely clean and well set up. I loved that it had a bench near the steps for my son to hang out on since he's not a big swimmer yet! And even better yet, fantastic outdoor furniture by the pool - I quite enjoyed the lounger chairs :)

I have no doubt as to why the Bowmont is listed at #2 of 41 in Penticton, although I really think it should be #1!!

Our family will be returning again next summer and likely bringing a whole crew with us!

Thanks to Christine and Dan for making our Penticton holiday such a smashing success!

Room Tip: Talk to Christine about your stay and what kind of travellers you'll have with you. She is great...
