The venue hasn't changed in 40 years. I think even the carpet is the same. 42 attended a buffet dinner for a retiring colleague. The dinner was good, there were fresh salads, roast beef, salmon, ovenbaked potatoes, green beans. The dessert table was an assortment of cheese, fruit, shortbread and 2 cakes. Tea and coffee provided, with water jugs on the tables.
We were quoted $25.00 per person, however the day of, we were asked to submit names of those attending and the cost was now $32.50.
Quite a jump in price and too late to change our plans. I don't think our basic dinner was worth $32.50 each. But more importantly, raising the price at that time was close to trickery.
