“Good beer, friendly service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2012

I'm giving this an 'average' because we didn't order food and it was quiet, late on a Sunday night so it's hard to say how good it really might be.

The worst part was finding it. A couple of locals told us it was on the north end of town in the same area as a Thrifty's food store, and it took 3 tries and another stop at a Best Western right in the downtown area in order to finally figure it out. It was WAY on the north end of town - probably in the same location as the 3rd Thrifty's food store we passed. It was pretty late by the time we got there - I think the restaurant part was closed, but the pub area downstairs was open. We got a sampler of 4 of their beers - all were quite good. The bartender was friendly and helpful.

“Good food, good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2012 via mobile

We had fish and chips, $17.00 for one piece halibut, $23.00 for two. Very expensive, very tasty but too expensive!
Service good, nice decor, restaurant upstairs, pub down stairs with a nice (and heated) patio, where during the summer they BBQ.
Have their own micro brewery and offer various brews locally produced

“Always part of my visits to Canada”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2012

The sole purpose of my day-trip from Vancouver to the Island was to meet a friend at this pub, and I was not disappointed. We were comfortably seated at a table by a window on a Wednesday lunchtime when the pub was not too busy. I was not aware of any intrusive music or other noise, and was able to enjoy two different pints of beers brewed on the site : one was the ESB, and the other was described as an Irish-type bitter, both very acceptable and powerful.
My salmon burger was excellent, being made from a piece of real red salmon, not minced fish. my dessert was a lemon creation.
The gents' washroom was completely OK.
This was my third visit to the Longwood and i hope there will be many more.
