Convenient central island location, terrific restaurant (Rizo) or seashore a short walk away and views of the ocean from bed or the private, quiet patio - all better than anticipated. The thoughtful touches of our lovely host Pauline made for really enjoyable stay. Cozy comfy bed and sofa, current and interesting reading in the room, would have been as comfortable for us if we were rained in. We feel we made a great find and will recommend to our friends.
Oh, I loved this room as soon as we walked in! Its more like a studio apartment than a room, and so much more homey than a hotel. Pauline's paintings grace the walls, and her delicious baked goods and thoughtfully stocked refrigerator made welcome breakfast meals and treats. The windows frame views of the water, with the mountain tops in the distance. The neighborhood is peaceful, the water is just a few minutes walk away. This is a good home base for exploring, and a really nice place for relaxing.
There is a sitting area with a sofa and TV, there are many books. The refrigerator was stocked with juice, milk, cream and fresh fruit. The kitchen has a coffee maker and an electric kettle, a microwave oven, and a toaster, and plates and cups and glasses, salt and pepper, jam and butter, coffee and tea. The sitting porch has a gas BBQ grill too. The bathroom had everything we needed, and for the tall people who might read this, the shower head was waayyy up there.
Art Sea Cottage is in a great location, a short walk from the beach front, with your own driveway for off road parking and great sea views. The apartment is spacious, very comfortable and very well laid out. Pauline is the perfect host and the breakfasts brought to the apartment each morning are superb. I would have no hesitation in recommending Art Sea Cottage to other visitors to the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
I spent 3 weeks at the Art Sea Cottage and was very happy with my stay. It is well appointed with everything you need for comfort, including a kitchenette.
The location could not have worked out better for me - in a beautiful quiet neighborhood but easy access (by car) to Nanaimo, Parksville, Port Alberni and Campbell River. I took day trips around much of the island and returned to my home-away-from-home for a good night's sleep without the hassle of changing accommodations.
Within very easy walking distance (less than 2 blocks) is a pebble beach where I was able to swim whenever I wanted - a super plus to me!
I would return without the slightest hesitation.
Impeccably clean and inviting. Self contained suite with everything you need...including coffee cream in a good sized fridge.
The view is relaxing and patio chairs are comfy for morning coffee. Nearby Access to beach walking. Be aware of changing tides if you are thinking of checking out the interesting edges of the sea.
I hope we have an opportunity to return
We enjoyed our stay at the Art Sea Cottage a lot, it's pleasantly quiet in Lantzville. From the cottage you've got a beautiful view on Georgia Strait and the cottage itself is very comfortable. Pauline offers tasteful breakfasts, which give you the energy to explore Lantzville and its surroundings.
The space is decorated so perfectly with a lovely view of the water across the street. The neighborhood is quiet and my mom and I really relaxed here! Pauline is so kind and prepares a delicious breakfast. If we needed a place in this location, we wouldn't hesitate to return! Thank you, Pauline! You have a very lovely place!
