This quaint little nook off of Commercial in downtown Nanaimo serves up a great cup of coffee, a fun setting with large open windows to the street, and food that is adequate. I enjoyed my visit and would go back again. The woman who took our order did assume that I (38 years old) was the mother to my friend (27 years old), which is the sort of social faux pas one probably ought to avoid, let's face it. But that aside this restaurant is perfectly adequate.

The staff was very friendly and relaxed. Our food was delicious! The desserts looked delectable. Nice location. Has a large door that is opened to the street on nice days for an open air effect. very nice. Will return.

We were a group from the convention center and we were really disappointed with our lunch. There was very little flavor, and the portions were small for such a high price. We only enjoyed the pastries. It's easy to say that you are a chef, but you have to prove it in your meals.
Next time, we won't be coming back.

my sister-in-law and i had planned to go out for lunch today, for her upcoming birthday. the place we turned up at wasn't open until 12:00, so plan b, and off we went to this restaurant, where we had both been to before and had been happy with. we again were pleased with our meals. i had a tri seafood lunch, a fish cake, candied salmon and prawn salad. lovely and the dressing was superb. my sis-in-law had an onion and mushroom tart, which she enjoyed. both were lunch sized portions. we shared a lemon strawberry shortcake, yummy. limited seating, and all the tables were full when we left, and the downpour had stopped. very personable and friendly staff. the building a bit tired, however, that is minimal compared to all the positives.
