“Weekend stay”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

We were in Nanaimo for a work event in June. We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent service and the room with a view. The grounds were beautiful and we even saw a beaver. Breakfast had something for everyone and the staff were more than accommodating. We were even able to bring the dog.

Thank you for taking the time to share your views. I think we have a great crew working here, and they do a good job taking care of our guests, and keeping the property looking sharp.
I am glad that you got to see some of our wildlife while you were here too. Often times we are too busy to take the time to watch for the animals, but I know that we all stillget really excited seeing the mink, raccoons, otters, and beaver that are found in and around Long Lake.
Thank you,

It was really nice. The beds were very comfortable. It was really nice that they accepted our dog for a small deposit. The breakfasts were good and they always had little snacks. The room had a small fridge and microwave which was very convenient. All in all we enjoyed our visit. It was my husband's second visit(for work). He was suggested we go there.

Thank you for taking a few moments to share your thoughts. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay, and were able to bring your dog with you. It sounds like you may have discovered our bowl of apples we keep on the front desk, or the cookies we bake most afternoons. We also try to keep some doggie treats handy for our four legged guests too.
Our location and setting seem to work well for Business travellers like your husband with lots of free parking, and free wi-fi, yet our great lake side setting is relaxing and comfy for leisure travellers to enjoy.
Thank you,

Our family all enjoyed our stay here and we will stay here again if we have future events in Nanaimo. Best part was relaxing in our room in the morning looking out on the peaceful lake with sounds of birds singing coming in the window. Friendly staff and our dog was welcomed with a goodie bag :-)

Thank you. It sounds like you had exactly the experience that we are trying to create for our guests! Relaxing, and enjoying the view of "our" lake.
I must warn you though, many pets are welcomed with a goodie bag, and a lot of petting! That is one of our "perks" working here-we get to meet some really awesome dogs! And even a few really great cats visit us too.
We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Nanaimo.
Thanks,

We stayed at the Inn in May/13. We stayed two nights. The place was clean and so was the room. Everything you need in the morning was there, the staff at the front desk was super helpful and friendly.

The amazing view of the lake that freaked us every morning when we open the curtain was priceless.

The only thing I didn't like was we kept missing the street to the Inn when coming from the opposite road, not well marked.

Room Tip: Choose room facing the lake.

Thank you. I am glad that the view blew you away too. It is something that I never get tired of seeing. I do need to point out though, that EVERY room at the Inn looks out over Long Lake. And it is great being able to show the staff here (more like a big family) that guests do notice and appreciate the work that we do.
I do agree that road signage overall is a little strange in Nanaimo, and we are doing our best to work with the City to improve the situation.

Enjoyed our short one night stay very much! Lots of parking and easy check in and friendly staff! Relaxing evening with friends on the balcony overlooking the lake, and a fantastic complimentary breakfast to send us off! Love the fact this hotel is pet friendly, next time our 4 legged friend should join us, as the lower patio rooms would be excellent to walk out onto grass!

Room Tip: If you bring your dog, choose a patio room that goes out onto grass.

Thank you for the review. We are so glad to herar that you enjoyed your stay with us, and we really hope that you bring your dog with you next time as well! We really enjoy meeting our four legged guests. The patio doors onto the lawn are definitely the perfect setup for pet owners, and they still have a view of the lake.

If you have to stay in Nanaimo for any length of time, you have a good chance of getting hosed. The Inn on Long Lake is one exception. 24 hour attention, clean rooms, lots of parking, unpretentious breakfast, fast check in and out make an effective combination. Plus I went for some epic runs from here and it all worked really well.

Room Tip: Rooms at the end are quietest and you can access them up the outside stair well.

Great place on the shore of a lake. Clean, well maintained, great breakfast. No pool but the lake is clean and great for swimming. Excellent hot tub and sauna. Free wi-fi too! Microwave & fridge! Courteous & helpful staff! Each room has a patio!

Frankly, I cannot think of a negative thing to say about this hotel. I plan to stay there again.
