Rooms are always clean, ready to go, and serve their purpose. Guest Services is always pleasant and ensuring that your stay is going well. Witnessing the front desk staff in action dealing with guests complaints - well done! They are great at what they do. This is my go-to place in Nanaimo based on its location to where I need to go.

Room Tip: Get room on 3rd floor - only when with access from elevator

Hi there,

Thanks so much for this very kind review.

Everyone at Travelodge Nanaimo is considered family the moment they walk in our doors. This includes human and pet guests; as well as, all staff and community members.

We also realize we are very fortunate to be only 2minutes from BC Ferries Departure Bay Ferry terminal providing great convenience!

We hope to see you again soon.

Regards,

I recently stayed at the Travelodge Nanaimo and was surprised with their hospitality. The outside of the building looks decent, however the rooms were clean and the beds were very comfy to sleep in. They had a super nice staff- quick to check in & out without any problems. The location was also great because it was very close to the harbour, dt, and ferries. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a short-term stay especially for the price I paid, I couldn't of gotten a better deal anywhere else around that area.

Dai,

Thank you for your kind words, all of the staff at the Travelodge Nanimo tries try our hardest to be as kind and helpful to the guests as we would as a guest in our own homes to be as kind and helpful to our guests as if they were family. We know how valuable your time is and try to make check-in and out as effective and efficient as possible.

The down town As Downtown Nanaimo is getting busier and busier with the holiday season gets busier during the holiday season, There are beautiful lights that cover the telephone poles all up and down the roads and the board walk. As well as, the Santa Clause parade this year was quite spectacular!

We wish you the happiest of holidays. and a merry new year.

Kindest Regards,

I stayed here one night as a stop over and it served its purpose. The building on the outside shows its age, along with the lobby and front desk area. The elevator was only for accessing the third floor rooms and the carpet in the elevator was nasty. Considering the appearance of the common areas, I was surprised to see my room was in MUCH better condition. Ask for a room that faces the downtown area (the side of the building entrance) for a better view. My room faced the other direction towards an old run-down apartment building, but did not bother me since I was in my room for only a limited amount of time during daylight. Most if not all rooms have a sliding glass door to a balcony. The number one important thing to me is cleanliness and the room was very clean. The free Wifi was also great. Breakfast was what you would expect for a motel like this - nothing fancy but served its purpose. The property is on a bluff within walking distance of a park along the waterfront and downtown. Would I stay here again? Yes, if the price is right, but I doubt I will be staying in Nanaimo again considering it is more of a stop over location than a destination city.

This motel was full the night we stayed after a wedding at the yaght club. We arrived after midnight and I was worried it would be very noisy when it was that full. But all was quiet and it was a very compfortable stay. Clean, quiet and close to everything, the White Spot, Tim Hortons, ferry terminal. They serve a decent continental breakfast

service was excellent throughout, but it is an older building, and as such has some issues. No swimming pool. Continental breakfast fell short of many such hotel breakfasts. Suggest that some simple hard-boiled eggs would make a big improvement

Hi Richard,

Thanks so much for constructive feedback.

We always love looking into anything we can potentially do to improve our guest experience here at Travelodge Nanaimo.

Our building has seen many years of service and to keep up with the times we have been doing a series of renovations to our guest rooms, and other amenities. We hope to install a new lobby and completely renovate all our guest rooms in the near future.

Although we do not have a swimming pool we are doing renovations to our sauna and exercise room. This will be completed in November 2012!

Lastly, we would love to hear from our guests what food and beverage items they prefer to see in our continental breakfast. We will surely try to accommodate.

Best regards,

Michelle Se

Granted this is an older building, but better sound proofed than some of the other hotels. We had 4 adults and 1 child so we booked a room with allowed that many in 1 room. It had a small kitchenette and it was getting upgraded. I did like the french doors that separated the kitchen area from the 2 queen beds. Breakfast was good and the food was replenished quickly. Staff is very nice. Check-in and check-out was quick, which is always a plus when you have kids. This is the second time I have stayed there. Last year I booked a standard room and was happy with everything then as well. I have not had a problem with cleanliness and that is something I am very particular about.
The negative is that you cannot take an elevator to the upper floors. You have to carry everything upstairs. Those unable to climb stairs should choose first floor units.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your very helpful review.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and are happy we were able to accomdate your large group!

I just want to clarify that we have three floors in total. We do have an elevator that goes to the first and third floor of our propertly and skips the second floor. The reason the elevator does not stop on the second floor is because the hotel was originally only built with two floors and in order for the elevator to stop at the second floor, we would of had to eliminate our beautiful family suites. To accommodate guests who prefer not to use stairs we place them in rooms on the first or third floor.

We hope to see you in the near future!

Regards,
