With the summer tourist season fast approaching (albeit not fast enough!!) it's a good time to start planning for your next trip. If those plans happpen to include Nanaimo in the central region of Vancouver Island, here is another wonderful restaturant to explore. Le Cafe Francais is a lovely, small (about 10 tables) on the main commercial street in Nanamo. You may be intrigued by its appearance, the delicious aromas wafting out of the palce or the serene melodies of Edith Piaf but you'll stay and return for the delicious food. Traditional french delicacies such as coq au vin and crepes are wonderful choices and not to be missed is th decadent, delicate and mouth watering dessert crepes - all generously "baptized" with liqueurs. The service is attentive and friendly, the ambience reminisent of a Parisien cafe but the real star is the food. Prices are moderate with lunch for two including a glass of wine and those incredible crepes is about $60. I usually stick to local specialties but variety is the spice of life and Le Cafe Francais is sure to pleas all but th emost discriminating of palates.
