We went quite early because of another engagement later in the area and so we had a great window seat from which to enjoy the busy boating activity on the lake as well as the 'passing parade' of early evening strollers. It's a beautiful location and the service was prompt and pleasant. The menu is basic,,and has a good variety to choose from. My husband had halibut and fries and i had an oriental noodle dish with chicken. The .meal arrived fairly promptly and was very tasty. The portions were adequate. All in all, a good dining experience indeed. It is not ' haut cuisine', so if that is what a person wants, Earle's isn't that place.

After a 30 minute wait to get in during the noon hour rush, we sat at the bar downstairs and had an overpriced gin and tonic ($8.65 incl. tax). We paid for both with a $20 and the waiter asked us if we wanted our change. I hate that. When we were finally seated upstairs, we found ourselves under a blaring loudspeaker. We couldn't hear the waiter talking to us so she had it turned down somewhat. The menu has a good selection but all the accoutrements are "add ons", including bread with a salad. Again, everything ridiculously overpriced. I asked for oil and vinegar for the bread and was told it would be $2.00 extra. Now maybe in a restaurant where the service is great, the environment is comfortable and chic, I wouldn't mind. I'm not cheap and don't mind paying for quality, but would rather just order a salad and have it come complete, pay whatever it is and enjoy myself. But! Two stingy salad plates arrived after a long wait - a caesar and a house, neither with any add-ons, -- plus one iced tea (too sweet and not cold) and the bill came to $32 incl tax. The service through all of this was not even okay but when we finished our meal, the waiter was no where to be found. Eventually she turned up and after a long wait brought our bill, then disappeared again. After after another long wait, she returned and I gave her $40. She asked if I wanted the change. REALLY?

Let's face it, this place is a flashy tourist haven for Albertans to come and spend their oil patch money. The views are stunning inside and out: Outside you have a panoramic view of the nicest part of the Kelowna marina, and inside you are treated to a modern chic decor with some of the most attractive female servers in the known universe dressed in a manner that lets you forget all about the food.

That's probably a good thing as this is where this restaurant falls flat. Not that the food is necessarily bad, it's just that it's easily double the price of a similar offering down the street (albeit at places without the stunning views and OMG hot waitresses). Their Earl's burger has a wonderful bun. That's it. The bun is golden brown, big, toothsome, and delicious. What's inside is a complete afterthought. The patty is just a dry brown thin hockey puck which you can get at any greasy spoon in the Okanagan, topped by a miserly amount of uberconventional toppings. The tortilla soup is a tiny portion which wouldn't satisfy a sparrow. The Caesar salad has a dressing that you would swear comes out of a jar and the only saving grace is that at least they did grate enough cheese on it (although I suspect it's Grana Padana and not Parmigiano Reggiano).

The meal would be fair to middling if you got it anywhere else but when you realize you've just paid double of what its market value is, you might not be so thrilled about the view. But, yeah, the waitresses are so jaw-droppingly attired that if you're an Oil Patch guy down for a week to drop some of your Fort McMurray wages in Nirvana On The Lake you might not even care. So just think of this place as a barely-family-suitable substitute for a strip joint, definitely not a restaurant. So go have a nice and affordable meal elsewhere then come here to sit at the bar, sip on a beer and ogle the girls.

Although part of the chain, this was the best Earl's my family and I have ever been to - service and food were outstanding and the view was awesome. My wife and I split a Caesar salad, which was perfect and we both had burgers that were perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. Our daughters ate off the kids menu and where happy with their meals. If you prefer chains to local restaurants this is a great choice.
