I love staying in a unit with this amount of room. A full little kitchen. A sitting area away from the bedroom. Nice underground secured parking.

The trade off is that up the road you can get for much the same price a much newer king hotel room with about 200 square feet. While you don't get a kitchen and multiple rooms, you will have a pool, exercise room, Starbucks and other facilities unavailable at Borgata. Perhaps, most important, your little hotel room might be well cleaned on a daily basis.

And it is here, we were disappointed with Borgata. The room was not very clean. Dirt piled up in the corner. A large hair of either the prior guest or our housekeeper on the front edge of the tub. A lamp not working. The downstairs bathroom fan switch not working, with it running 24 hours a day. Towels that we would have passed down to our dog long ago. While these are all little things, I did feel they brought what could have been a very good property down to average.

So after 3 nights, we weren't unhappy to pack up. Our next Okanagan Resort turned out to be much nicer. Unfortunate, that Borgata has not taken better care of it's property.

Finding a place to stay in Kelowna in summer, particularly before the start of school, is not an easy task. My initial choice was unavailable so, after a chance discovery, decided to book a place at the lodge for a week. The lodge is situated near two championship golf courses so it is an ideal location for golfers. Other than that, however, you have to make sure that you bring everything with you when you check in. The lodge is situated in a residential area that is hardly accessible to public transportation. The nearby Cafe Borgota (offers pizza and sandwiches) is closed on Sundays and Mondays and only opens from 3pm-9pm the rest of the week so breakfast and lunch will be hard to come by. The other accessible restaurant, Sarazens at Okanagan Golf Club, only offers the typical country club cuisine and the price can be prohibitive for the average traveller. There is no nearby grocery or convenience store and, other than the two mentioned above, the nearest restaurant at Four Points Sheraton Hotel is about 2 1/2 kilometers away. My major disappointment, however, were issues of maintenance and cleanliness. Both the coffe maker and the toaster were not put to use because they were either dirty or rusty. The same holds true with the stove/oven whose controls can no longer be found. The flush on the toilet broke down after two days and I no longer bothered to inform management about the matter because the front desk is only open from 9:30a.m.-4:00p.m. It can be quite embarassing to the adjacent room if you leave early or arrive late because of the loud creaking sound of the door when you open or close the same. Wi-Fi is free although the signal is unusually weak, especially by today's standards. In fairness, the guys on the front desk are nice and hospitable and the price for accommodation is very reasonable. Unless you're an avid golfer and don't intend to frequently go out, however, it will be quite difficult to recommend bringing your family to stay at the lodge for a vacation.

While some of the info in this review is accurate much of it is NOT.
2 stars is simply not fair !
First if someone has an issue and they call the front desk during business hours we deal with it the same day if possible. If this client/student had an issue with the toilet and did not report it how are we to tend to to it.
Where ever you stay it is the responsibility of any guest who stays to report any things that need attention. Saying the stove has no controls is completely inaccurate. Sorry but when someone says stuff that is not true and exaggerates things we have to say it like it is, sorry to be frank but others will get the wrong idea of our lodge. Not sure how the coffee maker could have rust as its made from plastic ! We replace most coffee makers on an annual basis.
As to the internet we spent over $10,000 on a new system. It also has 24 / 7 tech support and every guest gets that toll free number. 98% of the time when a client calls tech support its a problem with the users device or a setting the user had was incorrect. Tech support is there to help all our guests.
We have professional housekeepers that clean the units, 99% of the time our guests are happy and compliment us. The odd time a client may find a minor issue that the housekeepers missed. If notified we tend to it. Please do call us or email if you have an issue.
As to our location we are only 10-12 minutes to the city core where all the modern stores and newer side of Kelowna.
5 minutes more to the old downtown.
Generally we are not a good fit for people who need the bus system for transport. 95% of our clients have a vehicle. There is a public bus that comes several times a day from Sept to April to cater to UBCO people that often stay in Quail Ridge in various condo rentals as its next to the university. The golf clubhouse dining choices are NOT expensive. If your a student as this person stated, perhaps this may not suit a students budget but generally our guests & families tell us they find it good value and has a menu suitable to all ages and tastes. Some menu items start around $10
On a more positive note to anyone who read this we are very excited to let our future clients know there is a new small mall just 4 minutes drive, it will have a upscale "Nesters Market", Grocery store, a Tim Hortons, a new liquor store and tons of other new services that will be very convenient for our guests. For others that read this, our demographic during our tourism season is about 40% families, 30% couples, 20% business people & 10% international travelers. Some of them golf while lots do not. They all like that the dining options are convenient, along with the spa and golf courses there are lots of amenities
Hope this response helps others in deciding if we are a good fit for your travel & accommodation needs.
Wishing you Happy and Safe Travels to all !

We just got back from two weeks at the Borgata Lodge and couldn't be happier with our stay. When I originally booked, they only had nine nights available during the time period we wanted. I booked a one bedroom loft unit and started looking elsewhere for the remainder. A week or so later, Guy called to say that a studio unit had become available for an additional six nights, and I booked that as well. I was pretty impressed that he took the time to contact me.

Check-in was quick and friendly. Both units were bright, clean and comfortable, with full kitchen, washer & dryer and a bbq on the balcony (we appreciated having two bathrooms in the one bedroom loft unit). We knew going in that the units wouldn't be the newest or fanciest we've ever stayed in, but they were much better than we expected. When Guy called me to tell me the studio was available, he told me that it wasn't the fanciest unit (his up-front honesty was much appreciated), and we were pleasantly surprised when we got into the unit. It was totally fine and we really enjoyed it.

We thought the location would be inconvenient as it wasn't super close to old downtown, City Beach, etc. However, we ended up really loving the location. It was close to a lot of great golf courses, handy to Lake Country and Kal Beach, had great walking trails right on our doorstep, and really not too far of a drive to downtown. We also loved that it was quiet and away from the overall hustle and bustle.

One of the highlights of our stay was the Borgata staff. Every single one we met was incredibly friendly and helpful. They always had a smile and a friendly greeting and gave us great tips on the area, things to do, etc. They also went out of their way to make sure our transition from the first unit to the second was smooth and convenient. Our thanks to everyone there for making our stay so awesome!

The room was ok but needs some serious cleaning and maintenance. Usually I'm not that fussy but this room needed some help. It has lots of potential. The bathroom door was very dirty. I did not want to even speculate what was actually on the door. The window hardware was broken and you could not turn off the outside light. The murphy bed was uncomfortable. We enjoyed the outside property. Situated on a golf course the area was very pretty. The location was fine.

Room tip: Check to see how clean the room is.

Loved the location, at first we thought it might be a bit out of the way, but it turned into our "home" for the entire week. It was only 10 minutes from where we wanted to go as friends and family lived near. Very clean, a tad dated but then so is my own home lol. Loved being so close to the best golf course in the city, and the meals at the clubhouse were wonderful. The suite was fantastic, loved the upper bedroom and 2 bathrooms was great. 1 word of warning.. some mornings they mow the golf course at 530 am, but we were able to return to sleep as the bed was soo comfy! Definitely will stay again.
