“Amazing sprawling lake!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

Lake Okanagan is one of a variety of lakes. It has many arms and a variety of lake front beaches to accomodate picnics, kids playing in the sand and swimming. Lots of camping and the City of Kelowna which borders the lake has lots of places to stay and view the sun setting or coming up over the lake!

“NOT California”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

No it is not like California nor should it be. No two places in the world are meant to be the same. Okanagan Lake is unique with it's family friendly location(s), accessibility and unlimited opportunities for interaction with it, via water sports, land sports or an enjoyable walk along the Lake for many kilometres. Public parks along the beach are numerous AND require no access fees. The spaciousness of the whole Lake makes for absolutely no crowding. One can bring a picnic lunch anywhere along it's shores and all mosquitos have bee banished.

The sun and temperatures are the three bears, not too hot, not too cold, just right. Amenities, in Kelowna, like shopping or dining are literally a 5 minute walk from the shores of the lake. I am talking 45+ eating places and even more shopping stores.

Kelowna is Kelowna and stands as an attractive tourist destination being unique in it's own right. That is what I look for in any place. Similarities are best left for comparing the looks of a new born, to mother or dad.

“Best Lake in BC”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Okanagan Lake offers good swimming, boating, and fishing. I understand it has 1000 miles of shoreline with exquisite scenery. Could use more boat launch sites but there are lots of beaches and many for your dog as well.

“Don't compare Lake Okanagan to California!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Why would you compare these two areas as one reviewer did. We happen to live in Kelowna, and really like it here. Kelowna gets visitors year round, and the same visitors keep coming back, as it truly is a beautiful area - swimming in the summer and skiing close by in the winter.
