My experiences with the Kelowna Winners store have always been fairly mediocre. I'm not particularly impressed with their products or their service. Interactions with other customers in the store, however, have always been great; very friendly and helpful.
Today I couldn't find anything I really wanted to buy except a bag of gluten free cookies. I took them to the cashier and went to use my debit card to pay for them, shoved it into the chip reader...she snatched it away and went to swipe it...I promptly took it back and made to swipe it myself (if they don't have a chip reader why don't they cover the slit at the base of the terminal?) but before I could do so the cashier made a few rude comments. I left, left the cookies as well. Felt miffed because I really wanted those cookies. Called for the 'manager', complained, the store 'manager' said she found it hard to believe that that particular cashier would have been rude but apologized for my 'experience'...Hmm, it sounded as if she was suggesting I was lying...I turned to leave and two well dressed young men who were entering the store, from their respective sides and with a flourish, opened wide the double doors....Ironic... So if you check out this outlet your service experience might be as bad as mine was, but your contact with the other customers will probably be positive. Mine sure was today. Those two young men really helped me salvage my tattered psyche. No kudos for the store though.
