Our room was in the older part of the hotel. A little small and could do with some freshening up. Convenient location and well looked after by staff.

We were in the older single story section of the hotel so no comments refer to the "Tower" block. The room was on the ground floor facing the car park and next to the exit. People congregated outside to smoke with the smoke being drawn back into our room. We had the window open as it was hot in the room and smelly. (old smoky furnishing) The window didn't lock properly either. House keeping trolleys loaded with washing etc were left in the corridors and had to be negotiated each time you went through the lobby to the room. Only stayed one night so were pleased to be moving on. We noted that the Sandman group has slated this hotel for a rnovation in the next few years, it's long over due!

Room Tip: Try the tower block, it may be better.

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback of your stay with us at the Sandman Hotel & Suites Kelowna. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you had while staying with us and are taking steps to insure this type of situation is not repeated.
As you have mentioned, our original Atrium section of the hotel is under-going renovations as we speak in order to improve the comfort of our guests. Unfortunately, while we look forward to the improvements the renovation will bring, the process does bring about some challenges with regard to temporarily losing some of our housekeeping storage areas, which resulted in housekeeping carts being in areas that they would normally be. We do anticipate the improvements to our hotel will greatly enhance the property with our pool courtyard updates, our expanded fitness facility, our newly renovated banquet space, and our guest room and corridor renovations. In the meantime we have very comfortable and stylish newer King bed rooms and suites in our Executive tower which is not quite 2 two years old in case you would like to try those accommodations on your next stay in Kelowna.
I would also like to apologize on behalf of all of us that your concerns were not addressed while you were staying here, especially with regard to the popeple smoking outside your window. We strive to provide all our guest with a comfortable, hospitable & enjoyable stay and we did not achieve that for you, for which we are very disappointed. We have had our maintenance team review all the window locks of our guest rooms to insure that all window locks are functioning properly since your stay and are confident of the security of our guests.

Although we have many regular guests who stay with us repeatedly and are happy to return, we do realize that we only have one chance to make a good first impression with many of our less frequent guests and we do hope you will consider trying us out again in future to allow us the opportunity to demonstrate our usual hospitality and professionalism.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. No comment from our valued guests is left unheard or tended to and we appreciate your feedback.

Regards,

Kelly Watt,
Genneral Manager

The title says it all - it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in - but I had no choice - was on a tour. Most of the staff were rude - they placed all our tour on a floor that was/had been smoking rooms (they smelled disgusting). We were transferred downstairs only to discover the sheets on the bed had not been changed from the people who had the room before us - not good!! Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Check in last night after another 14 hour day. Check in was good. They put me in the new tower on the 7th floor. Not bad eh? Well, now the adventure starts. As I was walking through the hallway on route to the tower I met another traveler also on route to the tower. We both made a left and walk and walked and........... . It was a maze of hallways. Well we went back to the beginning and started again. We didn't know to reach the tower, one has to exit the older building to enter the tower.
Once In my room, I relaxed. A nice view from the 7th floor. Not really fancy but, very very nice.
The room was sound proof. No street noise. Yes I will be back. Thank you Sandman.

We stayed here for a dog show weekend and were not impressed. It was a busy weekend and there were a lot of children & teenagers in the hotel making lots of noise. Our room was overlooking the pool and we could hear people talking and playing in the pool area. We could also hear talking and TV's in adjoining rooms - the walls must be thin. What topped it off was the gum from a previous guest stuck to the headboard of my bed. House keeping must not be very observant.

It was pretty much what we expected, although we were pretty happy to see the kitchenette in the room. We asked to have an outside facing window, and there was no problem with that, the pool was undergoing renovations when we went, but since we weren't planning on using the pool anyway it wasn't a big deal.

The room was comfortable, but I would have liked the air conditioned to be stronger, we like the room to be cool when we sleep, and it was pretty warm. It was a bit of a maze to find our room, but since we were at the back of the hotel and there was another door to the parking lot, it wasn't a problem, we didn't have to go through the lobby when coming or going.

We didn't use either Denny's or Chop, too expensive, but since there are so many other restaurants in the area finding somewhere wasn't a problem :)
