“Skip this property!”
Reviewed July 20, 2008

We loved our trip to the Okanagan but this property was not the highlight!! Luckily we stayed just one night. As a motor hotel it was okay, relatively clean but definitely not a spot you would want to be for more than a passing through. The decor was very dated, the rooms were tiny and the cost was outlandish for this type of property ~ $159. We just stayed at a beautiful brand new property with a private beach, wine bar etc in Osoyoos for $169!! I'd skip this hotel!

My husband and I stayed for a couple days at the Siesta Motor Inn while visiting Kelowna. As per the other reviews, it was handy to get to the beach and definitely nice to have the grocery stores and DQ , KFC, drugstore, etc right across the street. We felt lazy one evening and walked across the street to grab some KFC for a quick meal back to our room.
Our room was on the main floor and it sometimes was irritating to have the thumping of heavy walkers walking over our heads or laughing out loud and you could hear it in our suite. If you pick a room by the front office by the stairs - you will hear the early risers thumping their way up or down the stairs outside your room. Especially children running down the corridor and stairs.
But it was nice to have a little kitchen with the dishes and everything with shiny pots and pans. We got to pick up some fresh corn at the farmers market and cook some for lunch one day or heat up leftover chicken in the microwave. A fridge was great to store the extra food from travel and keep drinks cold as well. Our room was clean and the sofa pulls out into a bed so you could stretch out and watch tv in the sitting room . No tv in the bedroom . All in all - we found it modest and comfortable and nice to have the kitchen facilities and table in our suite.

  • Liked — Nice to have kitchen facilities for making snacks or lunch
  • Disliked — Walls not sound proof, and noise from tenants above you.

The Siesta Motor Inn's Location was perfect. You have walking access to Save on Foods, Scotiabank, Tim Hortons, Mcdonalds, M&M and a Dollar Store. The suite was adequate. You have insuite kitchen with microwave, stove top, fridge, toaster, sink and dishes to serve 4. The key cards did not always let you in the first swipe. The shower temperature was not always consistent. On some occasion with out using the kitchen sink or toilet the temperature would change to too hot or too cold without warning. This did not discourage us from comming back again. It is clean and even equiped with a barbeque, which we had every night. It was great.

I just spent 4 nights at the Siesta motor Inn in Kelowna,B.C. The hotel is located on Lakeshore Dr.(Pandosy from the center of town) across from the Mission Park shopping center. The motel was clean and well maintained. Within walking distance are many eclectic shops and restaurants along with the usual "chain" stores. Going north, the center of Kelowna is only a 5 minute drive and going south less than 5 minutes is Gyro beach. If your staying in Kelowna and want a reasonably priced motel room which provides access to all that Kelowna has to offer I recommend the Siesta.

We last stayed at the Siesta about 11 years ago and rebooked it again for 4 days in July of this year. The service and facilities were great for families with children. The Siesta has an indoor and outdoor pool. They also have 2 laundry facilities within the resort, which makes doing laundry very convienient. We booked a one bedroom unit (smaller unit) which was fully loaded (fridge, stoves, dishes, microwave, etc.) you do not need not bring anything, it was a little tight but we only slept in it at night. The hotel is situated in a great location with Dairy Queen, Subway, KFC, and Starbucks all within a 5 minute walk across to the mini mall. They also have 2 large grocery stores and a liquor store. The public beach is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and is very nice. I found it to be more private than the City Beach in down town Kelowna. There is also a spot on the way to the public beach where you can pick fresh cherries for the whole family(Mid July). The resort is always well kept and the rooms very clean. Competative pricing for what you get, as Kelowna is expensive. The staff are very helpful and always friendly. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone who is travelling with a family. No hesitation to stay again. You will not be dissapointed.

We rented a 1 bedroom suite at the Siesta for 2 nights. The rooms were quite servicable, if starting to get a bit old.

We were booked into the room right next to the centre of the outdoor pool. Turns out that the pool is open until 10PM, which can be a problem with our kids' bedtimes. The first night, there was a group of teenagers that kept going after 10, and I had to phone the front desk to shutdown the pool, which they did fairly promptly. The second night, the pool was empty by 9:30PM.

The nearby beach is very nice, and there are plenty of stores nearby. The kitchen was small but adequate. They staff was helpful, and there was a bowl of cherries at the front desk that were delicious.

I would recommend staying here for the value (Kelowna seems to be pricey), but ask for a room further from the pool if you have a problem with early bedtimes.

We stayed at Siesta for a week this July. If you are not a smoker , make sure the room you get is not surrounded by smoking units - we had quite a bit of tobacco smell in our non-smoking unit ,probably due to poor venting. Its very busy in summer,so there was nowhere to move within the hotel. Another thing that was uncomfortable - housekeeping most of the time arrived after lunch, when our little kids were asleep,so we got no service, despite us requesting early clean ups. Overall, not a bad place, but defenitely overrated by previous reviewers.
