“Much more than a fishing resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

I discovered Roche Lake Resort by accident one day while out quadding. Reluctantly, my Dad and I walked into the restaurant and were immediately greeted and made to feel at home. We sat down, had our orders taken, and were genuinely impressed the the food and decor. This was a great place. Later, Lauren came over to introduce herself and welcomed us back anytime. And return we have. Just recently, the staff hosted a brunch to some 25 hungry quadders who, like me, can't wait to return. The food quality was outstanding, and the service was amongst the best I've had. Keep in mind, none of us were registered guests, were renting a boat, or even there to fish. For a great dining experience next to a beautiful mountain lake setting, you owe it to yourself to visit Roche Lake Resort.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

Thank you Lauren and Neil for your gracious hospitality.
All your caring and hard work really show in the wonderful experiences you have helped create for my family and myself. Physically the resort has never looked better and the atmosphere is so warm and friendly. My family and I look forward to many more vacations with you over the coming years.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers, Bill

“Awesome Fishing Resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

First of all there are no bedbugs. This is about the meanest accusation a guest can make when they've had a bad experience on vacation. I know it scares me away from hotels. We have owned our chalet at Roche Lake for 10 years and there are NO BEDBUGS! In fact the resort was just sold and the new owners are pouring tons of money and energy into the resort to update it: the grounds are well maintained and landscaped, new hot tub and pool liner, new dock, chalets are well cared for. I'd rate our chalets as 2 star: there is heat and electricity, bathroom with shower, 1 bedroom and loft that easily sleeps 6-8 with gas fireplace, full kitchen, and deck that overlooks the pool and a gorgeous view of the lake. Furnishings are clean but basic. This is a fishing lodge so it's not a 5 star hotel but it is clean and warm and beautiful. Great for serious fishermen but also wonderful for families. The dads go fishing while the rest of the family is at the pool. We also bring our mountain bikes and ride around to all the surrounding lakes. Tons of trails. We saw a moose with her 2 babies at Horseshoe Lake, an Osprey trying to get her baby to fly (her nest is on a hydro tower just south of the resort), beaver lodge on the south side of the lake. You can rent boats, there is a wonderful main lodge where you can enjoy a delicious meal (the new chef cooks a terrific meal - try the Kamloops Trout) and there is a lounge with a satellite tv. There is a private campground as part of the resort which is right on the lake, also a private boat launch. The campers can use the pool and showers which makes things more civilized. If you prefer a more rustic experience there is a large provincial campground just 200m down the road and several small provincial campgrounds at different locations around the lake.

“Great retreat - even if you don't fish!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

We stayed at Roche Lake for a family retreat and reunion. It could not have been held at a better place. Cabins were comfortable with all the amenities, restaurant and bar were fantastic. Owners were attentive and managed the place in such a way that keeps other guests who "get out of line" and interfere with our space away.

Highly recommend Roche for a relaxing get away. Oh, and even though I don't fish, others in our party had a great time in boats on the lake. I stayed in the bar working online - yes the internet connection is available to guests!
