We moved from the Mecca of Sushi spots, Vancouver, over a year ago to Kamloops...leaving all those restaurants has been difficult, but finding a Sushi place in Kamloops - one that I would return to - has been down-right painful! Heard about Nishino by searching Trip Advisor and thought I'd give it a whirl...what was to lose? a night of gut-wrenching agony if the food was bad? a few mis-spent dollars? My hubby is a sashimi freak - full stop. He was so pleased to see that they had a Sashimi Platter with 22 pieces for only $23 or $24! More so, when it arrived at the table the presentation was beautiful...that's half the fun of eating sushi, isn't it?! Tempura was light and not greasy - prawns were done perfectly and not overcooked and chewy. Gomae-ae was a good portion with a tasty sauce (i.m.o. could've used a bit more sesame seeds). Nice selection of rolls/cones/nigiri/noodles/rice bowls/boxes. Good atmosphere and attentive service. I'm SO relieved to have found this place...I look forward to sampling more of their dishes. Their all-you-can eat sounds good too (very reasonably priced, as well) - will have to try out both their lunch and dinner menu.
