“Loved this Park”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

My family and I had a blast at this park. It had everything for a family to enjoy. We spent the whole day swimming in the river, playing in the sand, splashing in the water park and relaxing watching a blues band play in the evening. LOVED IT!!!

“Nice park, mediocre beach”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Beautiful, though unexceptional, urban park with lots of beautiful shade trees and grassy areas. Tennis courts, kids' water park, picnic tables, concession stand, all of which are good.
The beach is a steep slope, compared to most beaches, and the sand is unattractive and dirty looking. The South Thompson River is usually cool to cold, but the days are typically hot, so the water is an irresistible lure. The current is strong, so swimming is limited and requires diligence with the kids or anyone for that matter.
Goose droppings are always a problem, but the kids love the wild birds, including ducks and swans.
Free music concerts at the bandshell every night in July-August, and several special events throughout the year make Riverside perpetually popular. Still, it is well-maintained with lovely flower gardens and walkways. One paved walk links Riverside to Pioneer Park about a kilometre away. It's a great route, but spring flooding blocks the path at the railway bridge. Bummer.

“great place for a walk before dinner”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Not at all crowded, thay have music at night, presumably only in summer. Parking easy. Waive to the train conductor as the coal train passes the park. I think I saw a groundhog on the walk to the bridge to the West.

Very well maintained park with many amenities in a beautiful setting. Highlight was the mounted park host on a beautiful Arabian horse!
